Stacking The Shelves #24 - Bought, Borrowed & Bagged #8

Saturday, October 01, 2016

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga´s Reviews and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

I am also connecting with Bought Borrowed & Bagged in homage of Barron´s Books & Baubles from Karen Marie Moning´s smash hit series, Fever, hosted by Braine at Talk Supe.

Phew, this week my STS is different in many ways. Not only that I got up early this morning to write a few posts for today, which I usually do a day before (but that is another story you can follow here), I also have a week behind me which was kind of crappy in many ways. Lots of trouble in every direction and on top of it all I got the bad news (again from that German bookseller!) that a book that I pre-ordered already in February 2016 will probably not arrive before February next year. I was really done with everything.

So I keep it kind of  brief this time, but not less happy that I got this week those two books below, which I can´t wait to start reading.

Bought books

Seven Black Diamonds by Melissa Marr
“And do you, Lilywhite Abernathy, daughter of Iana, mean me harm?” They were alone in the garden. There were no witnesses, no one to hear her words or his. She sat down on the ground. He matched her movements. Slowly, not looking away from him, she spread her hands out over the ground, Tendrils of vines snapped to her like whips. They curled around her from wrists to biceps. It wasn´t the extent of her relationship with the things that lived within the soil, but it was enough to point out that she wasn´t defenseless even in their isolation. The knife in her pocket and the one strapped to her leg were a secret, and she opted to keep it that way. Her affinity with the earth she would admit, partly because her fae-blood nature wasn´t a secret from him and party because she needed the touch of earth.
“I mean you no harm on this day and until such time as you mean harm to me or mine,” she vowed.

Empire of Storms by Sarah J. Maas
The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius as war looms on the horizon. Loyalties have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those who don´t.
With her heart sworn to the warrior-prince by her side, and her fealty pledged to the people she is determined to save, Aelin will delve into the depths of her power to protect those she loves. But as monsters emerge from the horrors of the past, and dark forces become poised to claim her world, the only chance for salvation will lie in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.

  2. Great haul! I can't believe I haven't read Throne of Glass yet! I have read her other books but somehow I find the length of the series intimidating. Happy reading!

    1. Well, I ordered it now from another bookseller and it seems that the UK can deliver it a lot sooner. Don´t know why that particular German seller has all those problems lately .... Thanks a lot for stopping by.
