Waiting On Wednesday #24 – Flame In The Mist by Renée Ahdieh

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

is a weekly event hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating with pure joy.

This cover is if it looks in my hands the same way as it does on the picture the publisher provides on his side, a real awesome one.

I saw it a couple of days ago on another blog and was immediately fascinated. The blurb sounds intriguing, that cover is one color explosion at its finest and though I was not that much impressed by one of her other books, I am really looking forward to this one.

Flame in the Mist will be published on May 2, 2017 by G.P. Putnam´s Sons (Hardcover).

The daughter of a prominent samurai, Mariko has long known her place – she may be an accomplished alchemist, whose cunning rivals that of her brother Kenshin, but because she is not a boy, her future has always been out of her hands. At just seventeen years old, Mariko is promised to Minamoto Raiden, the son of the emperor´s favorite consort – a political marriage that will elevate her family´s standing. But en route to the imperial city of Inako, Mariko narrowly escapes a bloody ambush by a dangerous gang of bandits known as the Black Clan, who she learns has been hired to kill her before she reaches the palace. Dressed as a peasant boy, Mariko sets out to infiltrate the ranks for the target on her back. But she´s quickly captured and taken to the Black Clan´s secret hideout, where she meets their leader, the rebel ronin Takeda Ranmaru, and his second-in-command, his best friend Okami.

    1. I hope that too! But novels that take place in China or Japan are something I like, so I really hope this will be a good one as well. Thanks for visiting my blog :-)

  3. I am super excited about this book as well. The cover is certainly incredible and if it is anything like Wrath, we are in for quite a treat. I hope that we both enjoy it! :)

    1. Well, I hope it will be a lot better. Wrath was in my eyes a bit too much. But maybe it wasn´t the right time for me when I read it. So this one has a good chance :-) Thanks for stopping by.
