Weekly Book Wrap-Up #39

Saturday, January 14, 2017
In my weekly book wrap-up, I share with you the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway or got approved for a reviewer´s copy or just bought a new one. And I will tell you a bit about the how and why I added them to my shelves and why I wanted them in the first place.

And of course, I link up this meme again with the two other suspects that are hosting each of them *smile.

So Tynga´s Reviews and Bought, Borrowed & Bagged are still on board here at Gone With The Books.

Stacking The Shelves #39 is hosted by Tynga´s Reviews. A meme that is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Bought, Borrowed & Bagged #23 in homage of Barron´s Books & Baubles from Karen Marie Moning´s smash hit series, Fever, hosted by Braine at Talk Supe.

I am in kind of heaven! Windwitch arrived way earlier than expected and though I did give the first book Truthwitch (review shortly) only an average rating, I am nonetheless looking forward to reading it and to see if the author could expand her style, her characters, and the story. Somehow I feel like a good girl at the moment since I am not spending much money on books lately.

Sometimes our enemies are also our only allies … After an explosion destroys his ship, the world believes Prince Merik, Windwitch, is dead. Scared yet alive, Merik is determined to prove his sister´s treachery. Upon reaching the royal capital, crowded with refugees, he haunts the streets, fighting for the weak – which leads to whispers of a disfigured demigod, the Fury, who brings justice to the oppressed. When the Bloodwitch Aeduan discovers a bounty on Iseult, he makes sure to be the first to find her – yet in a surprise twist, Iseult offers him a deal. She will return money stolen from him if he locates Safi. Now they must work together to cross the Witchlands, while constantly wondering who will betray whom first? After a surprise attack and shipwreck, Safi and the Empress of Marstok barely escape with their lives. Alone in a land of pirates, every moment balances on a knife´s edge – especially when the pirate´s next move could unleash war upon the Witchlands.
