I Saw Her Standing There by Marie Force

Guess it is no secret, that Marie Force knows how to connect romance with the beautiful landscape of Vermont´s Mountains and the city that never sleeps. She does it with this novel again, though the tone is slightly different.

Colton Abbott and Lucy Mulvaney have a secret. Colton´s nosy siblings have begun to put the pieces together, but it´s not like Lucy to keep things from those closest to her – especially her best friend, Cameron, who recently moved to Vermont to live with her true love, Will. But Lucy isn´t about to tell Cam she´s having a fling … with Will´s brother. Flitting between New York and Vermont is exhausting, so Lucy is looking forward to a long weekend with Colton at the Abbott family lake house in Burlington. Too bad Will and Cameron have the same idea, and once Colton and Lucy are caught red-handed (and red-faced), will their clandestine romance lose its appeal or will their secret beginnings be the start of something lasting?

My Review

Oh, there is no doubt that you will find yourself in the warm embrace of the Abbott-family again.
And you for sure will see some very hot scenes and the beauty of the little town and mountains in Vermont, where the Abbotts live. Only a bit different this time….

Lucy has her problems to get used to the fact that Cameron is gone. Living now without her best friend in the big city, having to run their business all alone and with new staff isn´t what she thought would ever happen. So only her weekends with the sexy Abbott boy Colton and her little niece is all that brings joy and light into her life. There is only one problem: she doesn´t believe in Happy Endings and there won´t be one for her for sure. Not after all she had to experience in her life.

Marie Force has an easy way to describe things, to show how daily life can be filled with laughter, joy, and happiness but also with problems, sorrow and pain. She describes it all with a great sense of sensitivity, words that are great to read and in a style that makes you want more.

I Saw Her Standing There is touching, emotional and with very hot scenes is but still with the right amount of reality in it. What I love so much about books is that the author shows not only the great landscape of the beautiful Vermont Mountains but also little adorable details like the moose Fred. He is the tip of the “I” and his appearance creates some very amusing scenes.

Though this book is mainly about Lucy and Colton the other characters from the former books in this series have their appearances too. So you will see how things with Cameron and Will as well as Hannah and Nolan keep going on and you get a glimpse of what is to come next.

The love of a family, the loyalty of friends, the fun, happiness and a fulfilled life is what Marie Force shows in her novels; at least the ones of her Green Mountain series. Her figures are all independent women who have to deal with some sort of pain, loss or health issues that gives their appearance, their beauty, and their character the special something. They all have a warmth in them, the longing for love, passion, and happiness – it is touching and very moving.

Lucy had to step in after the early death of her beloved mother and to grow up very quick and way too soon. Since that time she feels responsible for everything that matters to her left family. Taking care of everything, being there all the time and for everyone and running a business takes all her time. There is no space for a relationship. Affairs, yes, but a long lasting relationship is not on the plan. Until she sees Colton and has the feeling that he is all she ever wanted. And that is scaring her to death. And when she finally start to feel that this thing with Colton is running fast in a direction she doesn´t even want to imagine, she is freaking out.

A wonderful novel with lovely characters and things that make you laugh, sigh and that give you some very relaxed reading hours. No doubt another great read by the author. Read!
