Broken Prince by Erin Watt

After the end of book one, I had to know how the story would continue. Thankfully I had this second book already at home and could start this right away. And wow, the story became better and better …

Broken Prince* by Erin Watt
The Royals Series #2
Published by Everafter Romance on July 25, 2016

Pages 370
Format Softcover

Reed Royal has it all – looks, status, money. The girls at his elite prep school line up to date him, the guys want to be him, but Reed never gave a damn about anyone but his family until Ella Harper walked into his life. What started off as burning resentment and the need to make his father´s new ward suffer turned into something else entirely – keep Ella close. Keep Ella safe. But when one foolish mistake drives her out of Reed´s arms and brings chaos to the Royal household, Reed´s entire world begins to fall apart around him. Ella doesn´t want him anymore. She says they´ll only destroy each other. She might be right.

Thoughts

This time, the book starts from Reeds point of view and with a scene that left me shocked at the end of the first part of this series.
And no, I won´t spoiler here anything. Go and read this series yourself and find out what I am talking about *smile*

Reed is determined more than ever to get Ella back into his life. But that´s easier said than done. Ella isn´t detectable. All leads they have lead into the blind. And for Reed things are getting rough. Not only his brothers show him how they hate him for whatever he´d done to Ella; at school, he is losing ground and things with his father are getting worse.

I was really surprised how ironic and casual the tone of this novel was. After reading the dark tone of book one, Broken Prince turned out to be easier to read, with a fast pace and a great plot. It was fantastic to see how Reed was thinking, what reasons he brought in to explain why he was acting the way he did and that he knew very well how he was seen by others. And that he didn´t give a damn.

Erin Watt´s writing style became better and better and I enjoyed reading this second novel even more than the first. The tone changed during the ongoing story. Became tougher, stronger and with things happening that made me sometimes blush and then gasp for air at the same time. And I am not only talking about the hot scenes! And that end holy crab – I was literally left with my mouth open and asking WTF?!

If you´re not already in love with Ella after Paper Princess, then you are falling for her with this second book for sure. She turns out to be quite a tough and cool cookie and yes, I already kind of knew that after the first book. But here she seems even tougher and even more settled within herself. She knows exactly what she wants and what she doesn´t and still insists to do the things she wants to do.

And Reed does everything to not only get her back into his life and that of his brothers but also that she gets the things back she lost because of him.

Oh boy, what a drama! Rape, drugs, evil boys and even more evil bitches and the excessive life of the rich and famous. Well sort of. There is nothing in this novel you wouldn´t want to be in it. And the scene at the end makes you eager to get the third one. Holy hell, I was shocked again and thought it can´t get any better than that. Well, it could …

Happy reading
