I saw this a little while ago over at Between My Lines and liked the idea of it very much. Though I am not much of a Christmas person, my place still isn´t decorated and this year I haven´t even put an advent wreath on the table. If you want to see what other bloggers wrote, who do The Christmas Book Bloggers Tag as well, just look on social media for the #TheChristmasBookBloggersTag or follow their blogs – and mine of course *smile*

Normally I don´t do tags that often. I am not much of an organized blogger, which is a mistake I know, and over the past few weeks, I felt the pressure time is giving me towards the end of the year even more.
But when I saw Trish´s post, read her questions and answers, and saw all the beautiful pictures, I came into the mood to do this myself. And I guess, it will be very interesting for the others, who read my post and for me as well, to read theirs and to get to know each other a bit better.

So here we go. I will tell you a bit about what I do around Christmas, how I feel about that time, or what I would like to have or not when it comes to presents. And without much further ado I will answer the questions, that Trish has in her post and see how my answers will be.

THE CHRISTMAS BOOK BLOGGERS TAG

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CHRISTMAS SCENE IN A BOOK?

The scene when Little Lord Fauntleroy is seeing his mother on Christmas. I love watching the movie and though I haven´t read the book by Frances Hodgson Burnett yet, this story and scene are one of the few I really like during Christmas time.

DO YOU HAVE ANY CHRISTMAS BOOK TRADITIONS?

Besides buying more books than usual during those four weeks until Christmas Eve? No.

DO YOU PREFER TO GET PRESENTS OF BOOK VOUCHERS OR BOOKS?

Clearly, book vouchers, if the one who will gift it to me lives in Germany. Since I am getting so many books throughout the year, and no one, except me, can keep track of what books I do have at home, it is easier for those who want to give me a present. There are only a few people who actually do know what kind of books I have on my wishlist and with what book they can make me happy.

DO YOU GIVE BOOKS AS PRESENTS?

Not really. At least not when it comes to my close family or friends. These are not bookworms, and my family has no need with me as a person who finds almost every day a new book in the mail *smile*
I only give books as presents if I know for sure that the receiver will appreciate it and it is one he/she has on their wishlist.

WHAT BOOKISH ITEM IS ON YOUR CHRISTMAS WISHLIST?

Candles. Doesn´t sound like much of a bookish item, I know, but I LOVE all sort of candles. With smell or without, as tealight or in a glass – as long as it is a candle that looks nice I am happy.

WHAT 3 BOOKS WOULD YOU LOVE TO HAVE IN HIS SACK FOR YOU?

FAKE CHRISTMAS TREE OR REAL CHRISTMAS TREE?

Definite a real Christmas tree. There´s nothing like the smell a real tree has, the little noise you always here when you touch it, move it to the correct position, and the color. This wonderful rich green you can´t copy.

WHAT´S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT CHRISTMAS?

The time during forenoon on the 24th. My father and I are setting up the Christmas tree, decorate him with Christmas tree balls, and other Christmas decorations we have. Then we wrap little sweets (like mini chocolate bars) into wrapping tissue, that feels like silk, and hang them with silver threads between all the other Christmas decorations. During that, we like to talk about everything that moves us or comes to our minds and exchange information that are important or we think the other should know.

WHAT CHRISTMAS BOOK WOULD YOU RECOMMEND?

For everyone, who hasn´t seen the movie or read the book Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

WHAT DISH ON YOUR CHRISTMAS MENU ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO?

Since we are not having every year the same dish, I have no definite answer to that. I am planning on cooking roast chicken this year and afterward will serve some ice cream we usually don´t eat, so I guess that is the answer to that question.

WHEN DO YOU OPEN YOUR CHRISTMAS PRESENTS?

After dinner on Christmas Eve. We usually sit then in the living room and enjoy some wine, tea, coffee, or whatever we want and the person who has a present for you goes to the tree and gives it to you in person.

WHAT´S YOUR FAVORITE CHRISTMAS SONG?

I don´t have a particular one. But I do hear a lot, and I know that some of you might moan now, “Last Christmas” by WHAM and “All I Want For Christmas Is You” by Mariah Carey. Don´t ask me `why´ that is, I have no clue. I just like to play them while cleaning or doing some other things around my place.

ARE YOU DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS?

Every year, to be honest. Snow and Christmas - that is one thing for me. Though here, in the area where I live, we aren´t having many white Christmases. Every few years, if we are lucky. But when we do have white Christmas, the time feels special and there is a certain magic in the air.

How is it about you? What are your answers to those questions? If you like, tell me in your comments below.

Happy reading & Merry Christmas

    1. Looking forward to read your answers. This was fun to do, though I was doing this post today (writing and posting) and maybe the smell of the candles I had burning while writing it, made me go for them *smile* Thanks for stopping by.

    1. The video is awesome. Whenever I see it on TV I sit down and listen to it while enjoying the video. The late George Michael was one great singer *sigh* Thanks for visiting my blog, Trish.
