OMG what a hilarious and entertaining book! Alice Clayton has a very humorous way to show both sides of the medal – the male and the female one. Wallbanger is one of those books too, where I wasn´t impressed by its cover at all. Not at first sight. But then my friends told me “You have to read this!” and finally I started reading it – and had the time of my life. Fine, you can´t expect a deep-going story here – but who would´ve wanted that? I´ve expected a fun book about all those misunderstandings between men and women – the little and the big one. And that put into funny dialogues, scenes to laugh out loud and where you don´t have to think about it during reading. A book to relax and enjoy – and I´ve got all of that!

The first night after Caroline moves into her fantastic new San Francisco apartment, she realizes she´s gaining an intimate knowledge of her new neighbor´s nocturnal adventures. Thanks to paper-thin walls and the guy´s athletic prowess, she can hear not just his bed banging against the wall, but the ecstatic response of what seems (as loud night after loud night goes by) like an endless parade of women. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed dating hiatus, and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. The tension between them is as thick as the walls are thin, and the results just as mixed. Suddenly, Caroline is finding she may have discovered a whole new definition of neighborly …
Story
Caroline wants nothing more than having back her O. And the new neighbor and his loud sex life is not very helpful to get any closer to her goal. The banging that she hears almost every night coming from his apartment and that lets her wall shake is more than she can bear. And the fact, that it seems to be every time with another woman does not make it easier. But when she finally knocks on his door to make him stop and get a good night of sleep again, she starts to discover that there is a whole new meaning to feelings, nights of sleep, and the man next door.

Style
The author writes clear without any twirl, get´s kind of to the point, does not use any complicated words, and enrolls a nice and beautiful love story between her two protagonists. Besides that, she impresses with fantastic landscapes and gives the reader the breeze of intuitiveness what great pictures - taken by a professional photographer - can mean to someone. Yes, one or the other figure has a bit of a heavy share to take, but Alice Clayton reveals that in a decent and sensitive way bit by bit – without losing the entire easiness of the novel. The pages where you only read all those texts flying around between Simon and Caroline and their friends are so fantastic, I had a broad grin all over my face. The own imagination is here well brought into place and gave me total pleasure during reading.

But what I will mostly remember about Wallbanger is the great scene when Clive and Purina (Nadia) have their big moment. Good heavens! I laughed tears about the behavior of Purina, the chaos that took place, and the startled looks of Caroline and Simon when they figured out what right at that moment happened. That scene was to die for good!

Characters
Alice Clayton doesn´t bother to give you big descriptions of her figures. She´s more the kind of writer, who unravels during the story goes on, how her characters look like, what they think, and how they see things in life. She knows exactly what to bring in so that the reader stays hooked but doesn´t get bored. Her women are successful beauties, they have all the carrier they´ve wanted and worked for and they´re happy with their lives – except for the lack of a real relationship in it. Good, they´re all having sex from time to time, but Caroline is since her disastrous night with that prig without the capability of having a real O. And her thoughts about that are just gorgeous.

But don´t think that she´s now giving up trying getting her O back – oh no! Dreaming of one of the most eligible bachelors in the world, listening to music and wearing her pink baby-doll nightie are supposed to bring it back. But when her neighbor starts banging against his bedroom wall and she has to listen to all those women he is making happy night after night, she comes to the point where she´d rather does something stupid to get not only her O back but also be able to sleep again.

But what happens when she finally can make her wish come true with the most attractive man she´s ever met and nothing happens?

Conclusion
This book is a great way to just lie down, read, and relax and let your mind drift away with pleasure and fun. Who wants to share a good laugh without being taken seriously. A must-read for everyone.

Happy reading
