My name is Vi. Book addict and located in the southern part of Germany. I´m a skilled florist and studied at the HAF writing where I made my degree in 2010. I love to read besides some other things and there is not a single day where I don´t have a book in my hands. This blog will be all about books and how I feel about them.

Welcome To Inkvotary

In May 2008 I became serious with writing reviews and sharing my feelings about the books I´ve read. Since my time at the HAF I reviewed every book I´ve read and I can´t - frankly said -, read a book without doing so. A pen and notebook is always close by and it can happen that I kind of wake up in the middle of the night, because a great sentence for a review popped up in my sleeping mind and I have to write it down - yes, that is totally normal for me and drives everyone around me sometimes crazy. Sorry folks ...

I love books since I am able to read and a day without one in my hands is a wasted one. Guess that makes me an avid reader *smile*. The smell of a book, the low noise you hear when you turn a page – nothing compares to that. To meet new characters and get to know them, diving into another world, to me, reading is as much important, as breathing.

After many years of having the idea of starting my own blog swirling around my mind and a few months of planning, I finally started Gone With The Books on December 23rd, 2015.
Now you might wonder why a girl, who lives in Germany, writes her reviews in English. The answer is simple: Many of my friends are from the US, Canada, England and other places around the world. They all have one in common: They can´t read the German language.

So it was from the start very clear to me, that I would handle my blog in English so that they can read everything that happens here.

On my blog you´ll find all kind of genres that I like to read - no matter what language (English & German mostly). Every book that catches my interest will appear on this blog. With Inkvotary (former: Gone With The Books), I will encourage you to take a closer look into the world of literature, to discover the magic of words and maybe you´ll find a book that catches your interest and lets you dive into another world for a few hours.

A few weeks ago, sometime in February/March 2017, I became involved in a discussion about my blog name. It was a nice and friendly one, but the result was quite clear and deflating: The name I had started my blog with was not really the perfect fit – not in size, not pronounced and hard to memorize. What was meant to be a fan-reflection to a famous movie classic was not really a good choice for a book blog. At least not for mine.

Shortly after that, I created Inkvotary after I had done a lot of research and on May 8th, 2017 the blog was officially renamed.

Feel free to look around – I hope you´ll enjoy your stay here. And if you have any questions feel free to contact me and let me know.

Best wishes & happy reading
