With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #62

This week was a week full of wonderful surprises. I had from Fischer Sauerländer the book Iron Flowers-Die Rebellinnen (Orig. Grace and Fury by Tracy Banghart, which will be published July 31, 2018) in the mail. From the publisher cbj Deathline- Ewig Wir and received the new Chevy Stevens thriller Never Let You Go thanks to Lovelybooks and Fischer Scherz. And can proudly say: I haven´t bought ONE SINGLE BOOK!

Sunday Post #19

I am not happy at all with the new equipment that came into the house a little while ago. It is loud, you can´t turn it off, only standby, and the living room doesn´t need a nightlight anymore, because that new recorder is doing the job. Horrible! How in the world can a designer design something like that? That device is collecting dust faster than I can say the word clean!

I used to read in the living room, that isn´t possible anymore because that noise is driving me crazy. And I can´t use earplugs because if I do, I can´t hear the doorbell anymore or the phone. And besides, that recorder shouldn´t make that loud humming. The first time, I noticed it, I thought a bumblebee had gotten into the house by accident.

Nope, no bumblebee.

It is the new recorder that is making that annoying noise. Unfortunately, I have a very fantastic hearing. My family always says that I can literally hear the grass growing. So, I called the company, asked them if that´s normal. No, of course not, so I got a replacement. Same problem. And when I turn it off completely, which means I must unplug it, when it starts to make me mad or for the night and plug it in again after a few hours or the next day - that damn thing needs a restart! And to get that, I have to call the company and ask them to do it. Can you believe it?! I was flabbergasted when the very nice man at the customer service gave me that information. WTF?!

  1. It won't make you feel any better, but our DVD player makes a racket too. Not that my OH particularly notices it but I DO! Fortunately we can turn it off when it's not actually being used. Having to request a reset is absolutely ridiculous!!

    1. The old device we could turn off, too. Which was good. But this one? We try now to rearrange our living room and get a new shelf for that recorder. If that´s not the solution, I will do everything to get rid of that contract. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Oh man. That sounds awful. That would drive me up a wall to have to listen to it all the time. Not to mention that you need to reset it every time you unplug it. Ugh. I hope you are able to figure out a way to muffle that badboy.

    1. Well, we either have to rearrange our entire living room to make that buzz stop or get a new shelf. Not happy at all... Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Sorry about the annoying electronics. I used to have a TV that made a high-pitched whining sound. I was so happy when that TV died. I hope you have a great week and enjoy your new books!

  8. Ooh nice haul! I'm especially interested in Never Let You Go as I'm loving thrillers right now.

Sorry to hear about the recorder! Hope you're able to find a solution, that would be aggravating. It's amazing how much background hum/ noise some of these machines make!
