We go into the second round with this series. This time without a dust jacket, but not less girly like. Be assured, the novel itself isn´t all sweet, pink, and blue. A lot of action is happening, some romance too and in the end, you will say: wait, what?! Yap, it might seem a bit strange, that an adult reads this series. But why not? We all are having children around us, or most of us do, so why not know what they want to read? And between all the “pure” grown-up books, reading a child´s book can be quite refreshing *smile*

Ellie is a real princess, who wants nothing more than to lead a normal life. Lottie is a normal girl who wants nothing more than to be a princess. So they secretly swap the roles … As they return to Rosewood after the dramatic events of their first year, Lottie and Ellie are hoping for a peaceful term. But strange things are happening at Rosewood. Pupils are being poisoned. Is the threat of secret organization Leviathan grown closer? Lottie and Ellie are determined to find the culprit, but danger could be closer than they think …
Story
Lottie has found her home. Emotionally and in-person with Ellie, her roommate and best friend at Rosewood Hall. And unlike Jamie, who sees his position as a burden for Lottie her new role is everything she ever wanted. But how can you show a person who grew up with the knowledge she still has to get, that having a choice is always better? And when Lottie starts her training with Jamie, she starts to understand, that power is nothing if you can´t defend yourself.

Style
Easy to read, with some action and a beautiful backstory. The author hasn´t changed her writing style or the plot of her story. But this time she put a bit more action into it, gave the whole novel a bit more substance. And that makes this book a reading pleasure. Good, there are a few things in here, I wasn´t so happy with. The end is abrupt, and I am still wondering who the Leviathan leader is. But all the hilarious scenes, witty dialogues and great created figures make this book very entertaining. I laughed so many times, shook my head in disbelief, or was literally amazed at one or the other. It also is a novel, series, where you can´t get rid of the feeling, that every pairing, the princess, and the person who is there to pretend to be her in public, are woven together in love. There are so many scenes where you literally think, that goes beyond a normal friendship. Where you´ve got the feeling that either Lottie or Ellie is gay, or both, perhaps? Not bad, no, not at all. But I am curious if the author will lift that secret sometime in the future of this series.

Characters
I am still not fond of the way how Lottie´s character is. She gets easily distracted, is with her head always in the clouds, and just does not understand why she should always think of others as the worst. But she is smart. It’s the little details she notices when others don´t see what´s going on. She knows by instinct that something is absolutely wrong, but it takes her a bit to sort it all out.

Ellie carries her heart on the tongue. She literally is like an elephant in the china shop. First speak or act, then think. She and Lottie are bonded with each other in more than one way.

Conclusion
A very exciting end. No doubt about that. The combination of school life, action, danger, and so many secrets is wonderful. And when Anastasia and Binah step in and bring their share of elegance, nosiness, and abilities to complete the rest of the group, it starts to get really funny. For every reader who loves princesses and is happy when they aren´t as you usually picture them. And it is for sure, that there will be another part of this series. And hopefully one, that lifts the secret about Leviathan a bit further. It is only sad, that this second book came without a dust jacket.

Happy reading
