With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #76

During the past week, some new books arrived. And I am a bit disappointed. For some reason, I had thought that "Under Currents" would have a strong and shiny dust-jacked but no. A bit sad. Well …

Sunday Post #33

The past week I was busy working on my blog´s new design and giving it a new direction. I don´t know why it is, but in the past weeks, I was thinking a lot about my life, how I see myself, how others see me, and reflected on everything I´ve done and achieved so far. With the result, I am not really happy. Can´t say that I am proud. But at least I start to see some things a bit clear.

The only sunshine I felt, emotionally speaking, was when I finally got my Under Currents copy. Didn´t last long though. Some douche bag packed the book into a big plastic bag they normally use for clothes. Result: damaged book. Good, they will send me another one and hopefully, that one is in good shape. But still …

Can it be that Mozilla Firefox has changed its design? The background of the browser looks awful and even changing it into a brighter one doesn´t help. Looks still awful. Not amused *lol*

Happy reading

  1. Yikes! I hate it when books don't have a beautiful cover. Hope you have a great week!

    1. The cover itself is beautiful. I like it life way better. But it looks dull, as if they forgot to apply the shiny layer a dust jacket usually has. Thanks for your visit.

  2. How disappointing that they didn't pack your book correctly - glad you're getting another copy. I think it's difficult, especially these days, to feel contented with who we are and what we do given that almost everyone else around us appears to be achieving so much... But it isn't a race or a competition - it's your life. You are clearly a good, thoughtful person who tries to do the best you can - believe me, that's precious and an achievement. Have a good week, Vi:)

  3. You should totally look into Etsy and search for Blogger responsive templates. That's how I found mine :) and trust me, I know what its like to be disappointed and discontent with the results of a design. Out of all my years of blogging, this is the first time I'm happy with how my blog looks. I love Nora Roberts a lot! I need to get up to date with her bookstagram. Genesis @ Whispering Chapters

    1. My blog will get a new design, that decision is made. I just don´t know when exactly it will happen. But it is great to read that I am not the only one who feels that way. That is very comforting as odd as it may sound. Thank you for stopping by and your nice words.

  5. Oh no- sorry to hear about the book packaging! I hate it when that happens. So annoying...

I hear you on the self reflection. It's hard sometimes, but I like what SJHigbee says above in her comment- I agree but she says it better than I could. :)

I hope you have a good week!

    1. It is annoying, right?! I mean how in the world can they do that? It was like a warm shower to read SJHigbee´s words. But I appreciate every way it is said what her words say *smile* Thank you for stopping by.

  6. Good luck on your blog redesign. I look forward to seeing what changes you make. That's frustrating that your book wasn't packaged properly. That always annoys me. I'm glad they're going to send another one though.

    1. I am right in the middle of the entire template-buying-process. But I am not sure if I will continue, since it turns out that there is a lot of work to do upfront. New pictures, Logos, etc. I still can´t believe that they are using those plastic bags for books now. Thanks for visiting.

  7. My books sometimes arrive packaged in the strangest of ways. One publisher sends a single book in what is a box that could fit 6 or more packed out with airfilled packaging, another sends them vacuum packed in cardboard. I hope your new copy of Under Currents arrives I damaged.

    Have a great reading week
