is a weekly event that was originally hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating with pure joy.

There are a lot of new books coming out each year and some of them catch my attention and will get a spotlight in my Waiting on Wednesday post. While some of them will finally end up here at my place, others won´t. I am joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can´t-Wait Wednesday.

I have Seeing Red, the US edition already at home. But nonetheless, I am waiting for the German edition to be published. Very often, the cover couldn´t be more different as they are here. Sometimes I like the US one more, sometimes the German cover. But I always love her stories. Well, her thriller stories. The romance ones not so much. That book is again living proof, that I have my troubles to listen to an audiobook. Because since months I am trying to listen to this one. But I know, the moment I can put my hands on the print edition, I am through within no time. Crazy, huh?

Kerra Bailey is a TV journalist hot on the trail of a story guaranteed to skyrocket her career to new heights. Twenty-five years ago, Major Franklin Trapper became a national icon when he was photographed leading a handful of survivors to safety after the bombing of a Dallas hotel. For years, he gave frequent speeches and interviews, but then suddenly dropped out of the public eye, shunning all media. Now Kerra is willing to use any means necessary to get an exclusive with The Major – even if she has to secure an introduction from his estranged son, former ATF agent John Trapper. Still seething over his break with both the ATF and his father, Trapper wants no association with the bombing or The Major. Yet Kerra´s hints that there´s more to the story rouse Trapper´s interest despite himself. And when the interview goes catastrophically awry -with unknown assailants targeting not only The Major, but also Kerra – Trapper realizes he needs her under wraps if he´s going to track down the gunman … and finally discover who is responsible for the Dallas bombing. Kerra is wary of a man so charming one moment and dangerous the next, and she knows Trapper is withholding evidence from his ATF investigation into the bombing. But having no one else to trust and enemies lurking closer than they know, Kerra and Trapper join forces and risk their lives to expose a sinuous network of lies and conspiracy- and uncover who would want a national hero dead.

  1. Sounds like a good thriller. I don't think I've ever read anything by this author.

  2. I like cover this one has. It sounds really good too. I understand what you mean, I'm horrible at listening to audiobooks, but I can breeze through a ebook or physical book.
