With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it.  And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #92

On Friday my copy of Holly Black´s The Queen Of Nothing arrived *Yay* It came in a plastic bag but is surprisingly in the best shape. Now, all I need is to finally read The Wicked King so that I can jump into this new arrival.

Sunday Post #49

I am still dealing with my bathroom. The water tank is still not fixed but instead, a huge fan heater is now standing in the middle of the room and has to run a few hours during the day for the next two weeks to dry the wall. I had to take down all my picture frames because of the glass in it while the plumber was working. The empty walls look horrible and remind me that I have to paint them again. The next week I will be busy cleaning out my kitchen. It turns out, that the mason will have to work from both sides, which is in the bathroom no problem. I had to remove the cabinet from there, but the kitchen is a completely different number. Right now, my apartment is pure chaos. And it will get worse. Yesterday I realized how much stuff I am having in my kitchen. All the dinnerware, plates, glasses, flatware, Tupperware, cleaning equipment under my sink, etc. All of it needs to be removed before the carpenter can come to take out the countertop and some of the kitchen cabinets before the mason can start his work. Guess, it will be cold finger food over the next two to three weeks. Which is quite perfect with the Advent season starting next week, right? No cookies this year, I fear.

I could scream. My bath smells musty, I can see every pipe in there (which looks kind of creepy), and I am asking myself all the time since last Friday, how am I supposed to get everything done while I have a pure mess at home? I need new bath cabinets, probably a new one for my kitchen too and other stuff. Not to mention all the dust. I can literally clean my entire apartment because the dust is EVERYWHERE … What have I done to deserve this????

Guess, I won´t be able to do much blogging or blog hopping during the next weeks. I am sorry for that.

How was your week?

Happy reading

  1. Oh Vi, I'm so terribly sorry! I know just how devastating that can be... We had a long-running leak identified from our washing machine that ran up the wall and needed to run industrial heaters to fix it. But that was in August, so it didn't take that long, even though it was unbearably hot - and we could eat outside a lot of the time AND salads were okay... Not in the runup to Christmas when it's cold and outside isn't an option!! Sending big virtual hugs and sympathy your way.xxx

    1. Thank you so much! I know this mess will be over in a few weeks but to see it every day is not very helpful. Feeling kind of powerless at the moment.

  2. Ugh I spent 2 hours cleaning the kids bathroom this week, it’s my most hated chore, especially cleaning behind the toilet where all sorts of crud seems to collect, and it’s impossible to reach.
I hope your rebuilding woes are short lived.

Wishing you a great reading week

    1. I have not even read The Wicked King yet. And with my already waiting for me TBR of reviewer copies, I think I won´t be able to get to it before New Year´s Eve. The broken pipe has thrown my reading schedule out the window.

  4. Just when you think your own life is sh*t you read about a horror like this! Ugh! I am so, so, so sorry you're having to deal with this, especially at holiday time.

Hang in there!!! And treat yourself to some tasty cookies from a bakery. You deserve it!

    1. It is. Unfortunately, the mason might not be able to fix the wall completely before Christmas is over. Ah well...
