With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it.  And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #103

I feel like I am repeating myself again but no new book this week.

Sunday Post #60

Over the past few days, I was trying to read Darkdawn (yep, I am still reading it) and getting prepared for the huge storm that is about to hit us. And while writing this post I can already hear and feel the strong winds outside the house. We have bright sunshine at the moment, and it seems surreal that in a few hours the actual storm will hit us with up to 140 km per hour (= 86,99 mph) strong winds. At least that´s what the weather forecast predicted for our area. Well, we will see how the world looks afterward.

The past few days have shown that the house I am living in, has a serious heating problem. The two apartments below mine are empty since the week before Christmas 2019 and therefore the heaters in there are turned down to zero. The result is that my floors are freezing cold, despite the fact that I am able to heat up my rooms. But walking around my place only in socks or barefoot isn´t possible – unless I wanna get sick. Which I don´t, of course.

How was your week?

Happy reading

  1. OMG..we had 40kph winds here today with torrential rain and I was worried we’d end up with a tree through the roof! Stay safe!

Wishing you a great reading week

    1. The storm was no fun. But thankfully no damage. Still cleaning up what "Sabine" left us.

    1. Thankfully I was able to sleep during the storm. But we´ve found a lot of stuff from our neighbors that the storm left in our garden.

  3. I hope the storm isn't hitting you as hard as the forecast suggested! And I'm very sympathetic about the empty, cold flat below - it must be upping your heating bills and making this winter a whole lot more miserable! Hopefully the week will be a better one...

    1. If I could, I would end this winter season right away. Outside I still see all the stuff storm Sabine has brought and inside the house we have some other problems to deal with. I WANT summer!

  4. I had a really productive great week. The house we rented before was always cold if the weather got cold so we have 4 space heaters. It's been a mild winter so we haven't needed them here in the new house.

Have a warm week and happy reading!

  5. Hope the storm isn't too bad for you! And I can definitely understand your frustration with the cold floors. That would be awful.

    1. "Sabine" turned out to be the strongest storm among many that went across Germany during the past weeks, days and hours.

  6. Having those empty homes heating set at zero is dangerous, pipes can freeze. The Homeowner's assoc or renter assoc should be required to keep the heat on to at least a safe level. Yikes. Hoping all are safe and warm.

    1. Well, it turns out that our landlord did not even know they were turned off. The building is owned by one private person. But thankfully a man you can talk with. We will see Monday how things will turn with the heating and all the other problems we are facing at the moment.

  7. Oh no! Sorry to hear about your heat problem. We're having to fix our sink this week, it cracked. Lovely old houses, eh?

    Have a great week!

    1. Sometimes I HATE living in an old but lovely house *smile* But they have a charm new ones mostly don´t have. Thank you for your visit, Jillyn.

  8. Yikes! Hope you find a way to keep warm! My favorite thing is my heated mattress pad - and then I read a lot while snuggled up in bed ;) Enjoy your week!

    1. That sounds fantastic. I drink a cup of hot tea and snuggle up in my warm blankets. That helps too *smile*
