With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it.  And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Sunday Post #76

I thought long and hard about writing my Sunday Post this week. The past twelve days have put me in a state of constant shock. With growing horror, I watched the news and saw the heartbreaking pictures of the demonstrations against violence and racism in the US. Some of the pictures I watched, had been live pictures CNN had aired. To see how a young man tried to smash the glass at a CNN building in Atlanta with his skateboard – frightening. To see how some police officers showed the world their brutality and to see that old man fall and start to bleed – pure horror. For me, a peaceful demonstration is a tool that can be successful. But the looting, the rioting, the damaging of other people´s property? No. Not acceptable. The past twelve days I found myself thinking over and over again, what it exactly is that makes some Caucasian people think that they are better than the rest of the people on this planet. I found no answer. Because there IS no answer. I support all those who make their voice heard, who give a peaceful statement against violence and racism. And usually, I try to avoid becoming political here. But America I BEG YOU: Do yourself and the world a favor and don´t give this man a second term in office. The lack of empathy, the lack of understanding of the situation, the not seeing that his country needs a true leader now more than ever is horrible. America you deserve better. Much better.

To all out in the streets. Please stay safe. Stay healthy.

  2. Yeah I didn't vote for him the first time and certainly won't this fall. It's horrifying but the protests give me a little hope. So many people, even me, go about our daily lives without worrying about so much of the racism or politics. But it is all in our face now and it's heartbreaking. I want things to improve all around. I mean the racism, the divisive politics and the pandemic. Things have gone downhill the whole four years.

Happy reading! Stay safe and be well!

  3. Thank you- i couldn't agree more. I shudder to think what will happen in America if trump is reelected. It's too scary to contemplate. If does help though knowing so many of our overseas friends are with us.

    Be well this week!

  5. Yes - the best way to have our voices heard is to VOTE! I also can't believe how this has all carried on for so long. Black lives matter!

    1. Yes, they do. As all do. And to use your voice is the best way to make change happen.

  6. I agree with everything you said, especially about the need to get that man out of the White House. I didn't vote for him in 2016 and I have no intention of voting for him now. Our country can't take four more years of him.
