With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #145

I had a day before Christmas Eve a book in the mail. Thank you Heyne Verlag for sending me the German edition of "Kiss The Girls And Make Them Cry" by Mary Higgins Clark. And on Christmas Eve I unwrapped this beauty.

Sunday Post #102

The past week I had isolated as much as possible. Nonetheless, I had to go to a last medical check on Monday and was on the phone with my parents multiple times because of the almost hourly changing of our lockdown rules for Christmas and the holidays. I just wanted to make sure that they feel good about having me over for Christmas and thought it is only fair when it is their decision about the if and how we will spend the day together.

On Tuesday I read and finished a book. And received the Christmas gift for me unexpectedly. The delivery service had told me, it would arrive one day before Christmas, but came on Tuesday. Well, I am not complaining about that *smile*

Wednesday I was on the phone with my parents again, to talk some last details and to hear what they had planned for Christmas Eve. Well, it didn´t happen exactly as planned but on Thursday they picked me up and we three enjoyed a merry but bittersweet Christmas Day and Eve. I took some pictures of the day. You can see them below. I am the person on the left in the picture with the three people, the woman who is a bit fuzzy and has a red face (why is it only and always me who is so red? That is embarrassing). Unfortunately, I had moved a bit the moment my stepmom took the picture. I didn´t realize it because on the small smartphone screen it looked perfect. We chose this one to send to friends and family because it was the only one where I was smiling the way I do. And to be clear about it. I was wearing all day my mask and we were socially distancing. This was the only moment we were that close to each other and I was holding my mask in my hands.

Friday I was mostly at home. Reading and watching some TV. The weather had become very cold overnight and we got some snow. Saturday was another quiet day. It felt as if the world had come to a standstill although I know that it wasn´t the case. I edited some blog posts, downloaded, and uploaded some covers and other pictures, and read a book. I had some trouble with blogger while editing a blog post and it took me over two hours to get everything the way I wanted it to be. Hopefully, Blogger can fix all the issues it is having since moving to another server, or I will have to think about moving my blog to WordPress.

Today, on Sunday, I watched the very first vaccination that happened this noon in the state where I live. An incredibly nervous nurse received it and I can only hope that she was only that nervous because of all the press that was there. To be honest, I was shocked to see how much press there was and that there was no 2m distance between the people. Guess that will bring some critics out of their corners.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. I'm glad you were able to have some family time at Christmas and also to relax and do some reading. I got the Maas book on audio but haven't read it yet, but I look forward to it. Hopefully this week will be quiet with some days off yet.

    1. I am planning on reading it very soon. But I have two other books with a deadline by the end of December, so they will be first. Happy reading or happy listening, Anne.

  2. I am glad you were able to be with your family even if the rules keep changing. It's so hard right now and I imagine that was tough. It's the same here, we had my mom over (she's been around us and was here for Thanksgiving, plus we've had it so I mostly worry about her getting it somewhere, not us). anyway hope you have a great New Year. Wonderful pics! And oh my gosh Blogger is driving me nuts...

  4. I'm glad you had a nice Christmas and were able to see some family. :) (PS I can't see any red-facedness in the picture)

Hopefully now that the vaccine is being rolled out we'll be seeing the beginning of the end of covid... Or maybe that's too optimistic?! lol

    Have a happy new year!

    1. How nice of you *smile* Thank you for not seeing the red face. I do hope that we can go back to normal during the next year when more and more people get the vaccine. We don´t need another year like we had the past twelve months.
