With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #175

I had the German edition of The Awakening thanks to Blanvalet in the mail. On the left is the cover of the German edition, on the right, the US cover.

Sunday Post #132

Last Sunday, a severe rainfall with hailstorms big as walnuts came down right after I had put my Sunday post online. The air turned white and I couldn´t see my neighbor's houses anymore. It lasted only a few minutes but brought some damage.

Today, on Sunday, it is cold, and it seems to rain only once. Which is good, the lawn seeds need the rain and I like that I don´t have to go down and water them myself *smile* The torrential rain is kind of soothing and I like that I can keep my windows open. And while it is raining, I thought I go into the kitchen and bake a nut cake. I was longing for one all week long and am now trying a cake mix. Usually, I use fresh ingredients, but I am a bit lazy today, so a cake out of the box it is.

I bought a calendar book for 2022. Never done that so early in the year. It was on sale and had just been put on display in the local store where I like to get my pencils, papers, and other stuff I need. Thank you, Anne (Books of My Heart), for reminding me in one of your recent blog posts that I still need a calendar.

My week was, despite that, uneventful. Not to say boring. I enjoy the peace and quiet during the day and in the evening because some of the usually very loud neighbors are still on vacation. Yay! In about two weeks, school starts again in the state where I live and with that, the noises will come back and – hopefully -, some normality as well.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. It sounds like a good time. I would like some cooler weather and rain. I'd even like a new calendar. It's a little early to be able to get the one I want. I think they come out in October. Enjoy the quiet while you can and have a lovely week! I have been collecting some Nora Roberts audio books and now I need to read some.

    1. Usually I buy my calendar in late October/ early November. But this one was the same design and style I had used in 2020 and with the sales price of a bit above three bucks, I couldn´t resist. Ah yes, the quiet around the house. That is history for the rest of the year now *sigh*

  2. I love listening to the rain coming down. But yikes that quick squall or whiteout or whatever you had sounds crazy!

Hope you're having a great weekend!

    1. Usually, I love listening to the rain too. It is mostly a soothing sound and you know that the garden and farmers need it. This time it felt bad. Some of my flowers and plants got damaged.
