With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #177

I was a good girl. No new books this week.

Sunday Post #134

During the last week, I visited some blogs, left some comments, and enjoyed the content other book bloggers had put online. I was every day on my feet, walking for about two hours and after that, I spent about three hours doing garden work. Because of a lack of fresh soil, I couldn´t finish the lawn seeding project right away and did some other things in the garden instead. It felt like I gouged a ton of nettles out of the garden around the terrace and prepared the newly cleaned area for new lawn seeds. Which I was finally able to sow on Wednesday.

Now, all planned areas have been sown with fresh lawn and I am busy watering them. So, it was kind of a relief for me that we got some rain showers Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.

I also voted on Tuesday via postal vote and brought the voting envelope to our local city hall on Wednesday to put it into the mailbox there. It was a fun moment. The glass doors are plastered with information for visitors, and I read them to see if there was something new for me. It wasn´t. But a man who works inside the building saw me, opened the doors, and asked me if he could help. I held up my red voting envelop, smiled, and said that I am only here to vote. He smiled back and left the building. One thing less on my to-do list.

Almost every evening a 9/11 documentary was aired either on CNN, BBC, or a German TV station. And because we are having a big vote coming up in about two weeks’ time, I also watched some of the shows called “Electoral arena” or “Plain text Mr. or Mrs.” The Bundestag election is a huge thing this time and I am curious who will become the next chancellor (a Mr. or a Mrs.) and when we will have a new government.

Friday evening, I made the mistake and started creating new logos for my blog and ended up working all night. As a result, I was very tired on Saturday. During the day I watched some special coverage that was aired on German television, CNN, and the BBC. Or better said, I was more listening than watching. I sat most of the day at my laptop writing reviews and other blog content. Saturday was also my stepmom´s birthday. I couldn´t spend the day with her but I know she had a wonderful day despite the sad anniversary of the Twin Towers.

In the evening I watched the live broadcast of Last Night of the Proms 2021. It was so great to see this famous hall filled with a live audience again, although I don´t want to know how many new Covid-infections will occur from that night. It is amazing that this hall is already celebrating its 150 years anniversary. Beautiful building. Insight and outside.

Today, Sunday, we have again warm and sunny weather. And that means that I had to go downstairs and water the fresh lawn. It is great to see how the green grows but the heavy watering can is nothing I like.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. I'm glad you got the garden work with the lawn seeding done but watering initially is very important. It was a happy thing when it rained and it has not rained much this summer. We are getting the hot again this week and I want the slightly cooler temps back.

    1. It was pure luck that I could get the new lawn sown and then the rain did the rest. Not sure if I will do the same thing next September again. At least not when it is a dry month *smile*
