With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Sunday Post #141

Monday was a somehow strange day. After another sleepless night, I went to the supermarket early in the morning to buy some veggies, water and fruits, and other things I had run out of. Back at home, I enjoyed a freshly brewed espresso with a hint of cinnamon on top. I love giving a bit of cacao into the cup before I brew the espresso over it and with the cinnamon it is just yummy!

Later that day, in the afternoon, I saw that a German author had liked and retweeted my review link about her newly released book. Just for the record: I didn´t like her new thriller and wrote a mostly negative review. Well …

I also had a photo session where I created a new logo for a post about the new gold in the world and did some research on that topic.

Tuesday was a boring day. And Wednesday was quite the opposite. I had a heated discussion with my next-door neighbor about the cleaning of the stairs. One week it is my turn, the next hers. She is not ok with that; the heck knows why.

On Thursday I discovered a technical problem. No hot water in the house. Instead of going for a power walk and later into the garden to plant the last bulbs, I had to call the landlord to tell him about the water problem. After that, I went to the supermarket to get myself some fresh veggies and fruits. I am frustrated that I can´t work in the garden. I have no idea how long this wonderful sunny weather will last but without hot water for a shower sweaty garden work is no option.

I made Friday my shopping day for the long weekend. Sunday is Reformation Day and on Monday it is All Saints Day here in Germany. The supermarket was very crowded, and it took me longer to get everything I wanted than expected. Friday afternoon I got the garden ready for winter. Back in I wanted to cancel my current three-month audible abo because the next payment would have been € 9,95. Too expensive for my taste. During the cancellation process, amazon offered me to extend my abo for three more months and I clicked that. Somehow, I am way more comfortable with paying € 4,95 instead of the usual € 9,95.

On Saturday I got the last fresh items I needed for the weekend. I had planned to write all afternoon on two new articles, and to get one published on the blog. Instead, I spent about two hours down in the basement, cleaning and wiping the basement floor. One or more of the garden bags I had placed there for the next Organic collection day in two weeks, had apparently leaked. A brown, smelling liquid. Our basement floor is not sealed, and every liquid leaves its mark if you don´t wipe it away immediately. Felt like changing a diaper on a baby. Ugh.

Later in the afternoon, I wrote this post.

Today, Sunday is Halloween. I slept long after I had been awake almost all night. Not because of the time change, but because I was reading and watching a bit of TV and lost track of time. I had a one-hour photo session to take new cover pictures for Instagram and my blog and edited some of them already. I am still writing on some articles about random book facts of all kinds. My research had taken longer than expected. Some articles I write in one session, and everything is perfect. Others I have to sit down days or weeks before I call them done and good.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. You really go to get fresh thing almost every day. I'm glad Audible offered you a deal. I have gotten that kind of thing sometimes. I hope they have some deals for Black Friday too.

Sounds like you've had some productive work on the blog and whatnot this week. Sorry to hear about the hot water though.

Hope you are well and have a good week :)
