It took me a bit to realize, that the cover shows Kal. He plays an important role in this second book, and I am looking forward to how the story between him, and Aurora will be in the third part. And I am happy, that the publisher used the original cover, for the German edition.

Story
Aurora and Squad 312 are on a mission. To stay alive and to get Aurora to the place she needs to be to do what she is supposed to do as the Trigger. Unfortunately, Aurora is still not able to control the power she has inside. And when she finds out, that there is another problem she must control, it seems clear that she is running out of time.
Style
The eloquent writing style of the author duo makes some scenes delicious eye-catchers and many dialogues a quick-witted exchange between the individual characters. Well, there were some scenes that were more of an unwanted déjà vu for me than new reading material, but that went away after a few chapters.
Most of this novel contain moments where the reader can't help but be amazed, hold his breath, and laugh. And the visually stunning scenes that provide the perfect mental cinema from start to finish, I was particularly impressed. I very much hope that the third and last part can keep and worthy finish what the two authors started and continued with this second part.
Characters
What emerged between Aurora and Kal in the first volume is now being continued by the two authors in this second volume and taken to new dimensions. And the fact that there is apparently a secret on the verge of discovery gives the whole thing an extra dose of excitement. It was delightful for me as a reader to watch and absolutely loved the direction that part of the storyline was taking. Even if I had to gasp for air at the end when I realized exactly what this was all about.
Conclusion
An absolutely successful sequel. Well, the beginning had a little too much adversity and often similar scenes for my liking, but then – holy cannon! And after reading the last pages I'm in a kind of shock and I'm really looking forward to the third part.

Stil
Der wortgewaltige Schreibstil des Autorenduos macht so manche Szene zum köstlichen Hingucker und viele Dialoge zu einem schlagfertigen Austausch zwischen den einzelnen Figuren. Gut, es gab einige Szenen, die waren für mich mehr ein unerwünschtes Déjà-vu als neuer Lesestoff, aber das hat sich nach wenigen Kapiteln gelegt.
Der Großteil dieses Romans enthält Momente, wo man als Leser aus dem Staunen, dem Luftanhalten und dem Lachen nicht mehr herauskommt. Und die bildgewaltigen Szenen, die von Anfang bis Ende für das perfekte Kopfkino sorgen, die haben es mir besonders angetan. Ich hoffe sehr, dass der dritte und letzte Teil das halten und würdig abschließen kann, was die beiden Autoren mit diesem zweiten Teil begonnen als auch fortgesetzt haben.
Charaktere
Was sich zwischen Aurora und Kal im ersten Band abzeichnete, wird von den beiden Autoren in diesem zweiten Band nun fortgeführt und in neue Dimensionen getrieben. Und die Tatsache, dass sich da offenbar ein Geheimnis nahe am Rand der Entdeckung befindet, gibt dem Ganzen noch mal eine extra Portion Spannung. Es war für mich als Leserin herrlich zum Beobachten, und die Richtung, die dieser Teil der Handlung einnahm, gefiel mir absolut. Auch wenn ich am Ende dann doch mal kurz nach Luft schnappen musste, als mir klar wurde, worauf genau das hinausläuft.
Resultat
Eine absolut gelungene Fortsetzung. Schön, der Anfang hatte für meinen Geschmack etwas zu viele Widrigkeiten und oftmals ähnliche Szenen, aber dann – heiliges Kanonenrohr! Und nach dem Lesen der letzten Seiten bin ich in einer Art Schockstarre und äußerst gespannt auf den dritten Teil.
