With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #199

I was a good girl. No new books.

Sunday Post #156

Monday was a short day. After my walk to the supermarket in the morning I went to bed early and slept until Tuesday morning around five o`clock. Tuesday, I did some blogging related stuff and took care of the aftermath the storms Dudley (called Ylenia in Germany), Eunice (called Zeynep) and Franklin (called Antonia) had caused around the house. I found lots of broken branches as well as pieces of metal and some garden furniture which had landed in the back yard. I even found some male underwear!

I ordered online my papers for the upcoming major vote. In March we will have to elect a new major and I have no clue whom I want to give my voice to. And even though I am fully vaccinated and got my booster shot in January, I am not willing to get up early on a Sunday and dressed properly just to vote. Not if I can do it at my convenience by mail.

On Wednesday we had such sunny weather that I decided, after my trip to the supermarket, to start working on the next two spots in the garden. Below you see one of them.

Those spots I want to turn into a part with summer flowers. One of my neighbors, a woman who works in mobile care, lives on the third floor and sees them when she looks down from her balcony. I can´t give her a better payment but maybe I can give her a beautiful view. And I know that she loves daisy flowers and poppies.

Thursday hell broke loose. Literally. Not here in my private space, but elsewhere. My planned schedule was filled with reading texts, editing, creating logos, etc. I did none of it. Instead, I had a guilty conscience, that I wasn´t down in the backyard, cleaning the spot from weeds, moss, or the ivy that is growing there. It was a sunny day. Cold and windy but with blue skies and lots of sunshine. I went for a power walk instead, to clear my head and came back home after two hours.

Friday and Saturday I tried to go back to my usual routine. I applied for two reading rounds at two German forums, bought food and drinks for the weekend, went out for a power walk, and took some pictures for my Instagram account and some planned blog posts. I created again some new logos, wrote new blog posts, and wrote down my ideas for a new section on my blog called “Life”.

And today, Sunday, it feels and sounds as if we would have a normal workday instead of Sunday. Everywhere around me is noise. Loud music, motorcycles roaring down the streets, and I enjoyed my daily espresso. One cup with a bit of cacao and a hint of cinnamon on top.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. I love voting by mail (especially with a pandemic). And I love days like that- cold but sunny and blue skies. :)

Hope you are having a great day.

  2. I am enjoying a quiet day. It is very dreary here and after a long week I just need solitude and silence. Have a great week!

  3. Beautiful snowdrops and crocus. It was a crazy week and I am so proud of the Us, NATO with the EU, and so many individuals supporting Ukraine. They don't deserve this destruction and loss of life.
