is a weekly event that was originally hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating with pure joy. There are a lot of new books coming out each year and some of them catch my attention and will get a spotlight in my Waiting on Wednesday post. While some of them will finally end up here at my place, others won´t. I am joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can´t-Wait Wednesday.
Sue Moorcroft is one of the very few authors who know how to catch her reader's eye with a romance novel that plays around Christmas. Yes, some of her winterly novels are a bit cheesy and that´s not everybody’s reading taste. But most of the time, I love reading her books with a snowy setting and two figures who fall in love with each other despite all the odds. So, yes, this week my pick is a Christmas novel that caught my eye during one of the hottest weeks of the year 2022.

When Laurel returns to the village of Middledip, she’s looking for a quiet life. Adjusting to her recent divorce, she’s ready to spend some time getting back on her feet amidst the glorious snow-dusted countryside. Yet, life in Middledip is far from straightforward. Coming to the aid of her sister, Rea, as she navigates her own troubles, Laurel barely has a moment to think about where her own life is going. However, time stands still when she sees her old flame, Grady Cassidy - and it’s soon as if they’ve never been apart. But through her happiness, Laurel remembers why she left the village all those years ago, as she recalls a dark night and Grady’s once-wayward brother, Mac… Can Laurel learn to forgive and forget? Or will her chances of Christmas under the mistletoe with Grady remain a dream?

DeleteThis sounds like a cosy, enjoyable read. Sorry if you're sweltering - we are currently enduring blustery showers with temperatures in the low 60s... I hope it soon cools down and you can tuck into this Christmas story and fully appreciate the seasonal pleasures:).
