With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #220

No new book.

Sunday Post #177

Last Sunday was a normal Sunday. I visited some blogs, commented, wrote some new blog content, and later in the evening, I went into the garden to water the plants. The lawn has turned into a partly dry area, you can barely call a lawn. But I don´t see a point in watering the entire garden when the groundwater level is sinking, and the local government is asking us to be thoughtful with our resources.

All in all, it was a quiet week. So quiet that I can´t even remember details without having to investigate my daily planner. On Monday I took care of my household and went to the supermarket for some fresh food. For about four weeks, my supermarket has had an outlet shelf for flowers and plants. You can save some money there, literally. The week before I had bought a purple Echinacea purpurea for almost five bucks. It was a treat for me. The fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. Monday morning, I discovered, that two more Echinacea purpurea plants had been on that outlet shelf for not even one Euro each plant, so of course, I bought them. Happy and inside dancing *smile*

The next day, Tuesday, I went early to the supermarket, found some new lavender on the outlet shelf, and went back home around lunchtime into the garden. I know it's complete nonsense to work in the garden at lunchtime when the sun is shining bright and very warm. And I am aware of the high ozone levels. But the past seven days have shown me, that I simply must change some habits to get things done.

Wednesday looked pretty much the same as Tuesday. I took care of my laundry, bought some fresh food and water, found some Lavender plants on the supermarket’s outlet shelf, and went back home into the garden to plant them. When I was finished and went back to the front of the house to call it a day, I saw my other neighbor taking care of the front garden. We started talking about plants and I helped her to get rid of some weeds she couldn´t reach from where she was standing. I ended up with some new Jupiter´s beard offshoot for the backyard, which I planted right away where I wanted it to grow. After that, I took out all the bins (bio, paper, and residual waste) which were scheduled for Thursday. In the evening I watched another new episode of Escape to the Chateau.

On Thursday I was literally down. My body showed me clearly that working in bright sunshine is no longer an option for me. Lesson learned *sigh* Later in the night it started to rain though it was a short pleasure. Didn´t even last ten minutes. After that, the air was very humid and damp.

Friday the humid and damp weather continued. I don´t know what´s worse. The dry, warm air or the damp and humid air is so thick that every step outside feels like walking through a liquid. The weather forecast had pronounced that it would rain Friday afternoon. It did. But not where I live. Ah well…

I read during the night from Friday to Saturday. Couldn´t sleep and the books are piling up on my desk and nightstand and I am way overdue with some reviews. After an almost sleepless night, I went Saturday morning to get some fresh food and drinks for the weekend. Back home, I planted the last plants in the garden. Back up I wrote some reviews, finished a book, and felt so restless after that, that I went for a two-hour walk. After that, I felt much better.

Today, Sunday, I didn´t do much. I finished another book, wrote this post, and edited some pictures.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. I got a yellow Chrysanthemum for $1 last fall since half of it was broken. I planted it and it has flourished. I'll have pictures as it is just getting ready to bloom. I had to use the be out for a half hour then inside, then out again to get the lawn finally mowed yesterday. It was still hot enough I needed a shower again when I finished.

    1. Same here. Every time I water the plants, I need a shower myself *lol* Looking forward to the Chrysanthemum pictures! I don´t have them in the garden but maybe should change that...

  2. Enjoy your new plants! I'll take dry heat over humidity any day. I hate being sweaty and having my clothes stuck to me. Have a great week!

    1. Some of the new plants are already dying. Not sure if I can make them survive... Same here. It feels so yikes when your clothes stick to your body because you are one sweaty mess...
