With the best intention, I signed up this year as every year. Because a library is the best place to find new releases if you can´t afford to buy them or can´t get them from a publisher. And for sure it is a wonderful way to discover books, old and new ones, you never heard of. The challenge is hosted by Angel´s Guilty Pleasure and Books of My Heart. Well... where do I start? I am still struggling to get used and a friend to the new library design. And that is exactly why I am not as often there anymore as I used to be.

Another thing is, I don´t use the Onleihe (the ebook library here in Germany) our library also offers. One reason is, I like to read English books and the Onleihe offers only German editions. And most books there are only available after weeks. Same with the audiobooks. So my only chance is to read a printed book. Either in German or in English. I am not complaining, though it sounds like I am doing exactly that. No. I am just giving you information, about how things are handled here in Germany, library-wise. German library, so the preferred language is German *smile*

Well, when it comes to the Library Love Challenge, my success is rather manageable. Three out of Twelve (the minimum of books one of the hosts, Angela, set for this challenge). This means in other words, I made it to the Dewey Decimal.

Levels:
  • Dewey Decimal: Read 12 books (this was my goal)
  • Thrifty Reader: Read 24 books
  • Overdrive Junkie: Read 36 books
  • Library Addict: Read 48 books
  • Library Card on Fire: Read 60+ books

The three books from the library saved me € 44,99 in total. What a number *smile* I added the price I would have paid if I had bought them at Amazon. Books sold in Germany have a fixed price. There is no, today it costs ten bucks and the next fifteen. No. In Germany, books come with a fixed book price.
