With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #238

Sunday Post #195

I wish I could x out the past week. Monday was a normal day until I found out that my Giga TV Box is still causing problems. From then on, everything went South. Literally. Tuesday, I thought I call my stepmom to see how her plans for my dad´s big birthday were going on. He turns 80 on Monday. Well, there is no big party. And no coming together at Christmas. I went to bed early that day.

The next day, Wednesday, I started to prepare for Christmas. Got food and drinks at the supermarket, and checked the garden because we got some more snow and freezing temperatures. On Thursday I went into town. I was out and about for almost five hours and with the icy boardwalks and roads and some of them also covered with snow, I was completely exhausted and went to bed very early.

On Friday I saw that a book reservation was ready for pick up at the library. I walked almost three hours through the library, checked the new releases, and found some books I was interested in reading. At home I discovered to my absolute joy, that I had already read them *lol* Well, it was the most fun part of my day. I spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning the boardwalk from snow and ice and used salt to get rid of the ice. After that, I had to call my TV company. They had sent me two texts that a new modem is on its way to me and that I must install it myself. Excuse me WHAT?!

I also heard from my electricity company, that my monthly payment will have to go up significantly. I was literally fed up and went again, early to bed. And up early Saturday morning. And went again to the supermarket to get the last items for Christmas and New Year´s Eve before I ordered a new book as a Christmas gift to myself. The weather has turned into a freezing nightmare. -13 below zero on the scale. Brrrrr.

Today, Sunday, I made myself a hot espresso and lit all four candles on my advents plate. I finished some reviews, watched Biathlon, and did some blog-related stuff. Now, while writing this post, it has become dark, and I am going downstairs for the last time today to check everything. Please let this winter be a short one…

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. Winter can be tough as it is cold and dark. Luckily I have Minnesota clothes.I have handknit sweaters, scarves, cowls and socks I knit. Mostly I would be too hot in them here in North Carolina but it's going to get cold this next weekend 0 F / -18C and I might wear some. Have a safe, warm and peaceful holiday week!

    1. Well, the Christmas weekend will be a warmer one. The weather forecast predicted up to +14°C. So I guess, I might not need warm clothes *sigh*

  3. It's been awful here too- freezing and overcast. Thanks for your comment, BTW. Exercise does often improve our mood especially when the weather gsts us down. :) Sorry to hear about the modem stuff. I love how they just expect us to do it all now!

It sounds like you're preparing some food and drink for the holidays. I hope you get a chance to celebrate your father's birthday...
