With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #254

No new book. Sorry.

Sunday Post #211

On May 15th my dad had to be admitted to a special clinic by an emergency doctor because the care home he was supposed to stay for the next four weeks has screwed up terribly. Since then, my father is totally alone, and no visitors are allowed. And his doctor told my stepmom that my father won't be coming home. I am so furious! It is HELL!

I haven´t been in the garden, haven´t read my current read Hello Summer and read instead every piece of information online I can get to make things easier for me and my stepmom. My head isn´t willing to read a book or to think about something else but my dad and where he is now. Alone. My stepmom needs time to adjust and cope with everything that´s happening but unfortunately, my dad hasn´t the time to wait for that.

The weather is unusually warm for this time of year, and we have a mix of sun and clouds. For me usually, the perfect weather to go for a power walk. Not these days. My only walk is the walk to the supermarket. Since the drama started to unfold Monday, I noticed that I mostly buy veggies, salat, and some fruits. My instinct tells me, that I need to change my nutrition plan again and eat as clean as possible to hopefully avoid a diagnosis he got in his early seventies. But sometimes I am still buying a bit of chocolate and enjoy it to satisfy my sweet tooth *sigh*

Last night, Saturday, I enjoyed some Aperol. Not the best of choices, yes, but well… At least I was able to sleep for a couple of hours. Which I haven´t done in the past week. Today, I slept very long, wrote, and discovered that the word “freedom” has become a totally new definition for me. I can walk around as I please. My dad can´t and won´t for the rest of his life. How short or long it might be …

And how was your week?

Happy reading

  4. I'm so terribly sorry about the situation surrounding your Dad - it sounds absolutely horrible. I think your instinct to eat as healthily as possible is sound - during my long, long recovery, I've cut out sugar as much as possible and found I'm both calmer and far less prone to backache and the wrist and finger aches I used to endure. I hope the coming week is a kinder one, Vi.x
