It is that time of year again. Kimberly at Caffeinated Reviewer is doing her Sixth annual Take Control of Your TBR Pile Challenge. The logo is different from the one we had last year but as pretty as the other one. Rules have a bit changed, from what I can see. I listed them at the end of this post.
But there will be again a grand prize of your choice. And a Twitter Party. So, motivation is given *smile* If you like to know what my goal for this challenge is, or what you´ll have to do to participate, keep reading.

With this challenge, I will focus on the entire month of March on reading/listening to books in my TBR pile released before March 1, 2018. Meaning they can be eBooks, physical books or audiobooks. I will try to clean off those shelves and finish those series and trilogies! Hopefully.

No matter how hard I try, every year turns out to be the same. I get new books en masse and my to-be-read pile is standing in one corner of the room and giving me a look of reproach – if a book pile can do that *smile*

My Goal

4 books

Sounds not much, but I´d rather keep it low this time. And I am not sure if I will be able to achieve that since March is always a busy month for me. But I am eager to read as much as I can. Good, I will have to read some new releases during March too, where I have a deadline to fulfill. But I don´t think that that will have a huge impact on my time schedule. At least I hope not.

I will have to see if I am able to attend the Twitter Party since I am over in Europe and doing something in the middle of the night isn´t always as fun as it sounds. I hope that won´t disqualify me.

Rules

  • Link-up! This is open to everyone. If you do not have a blog, then link a shelf entitled Take Control 2018 from your Goodreads account. It is a good idea to friend Kimberly if your shelves are private.
  • Create a Goals/Update/Results post (can be combined). It can also be a shelf on Goodreads. Be sure to friend Kimberly so she can see it.
  • The Challenge starts midnight March 1, 2018, and ends March 31, 2018, at 11:59 pm.
  • Read/listen to books from your TBR pile.
  • All books/audios must have been published before March 1, 2018. Kimberly doesn´t care where you got them, so old ARC´s count too.
  • Post a review to Goodreads, or your blog then add the URL link to the Rafflecopter for an entry. (These can be a mini review. Just one or two sentences).
  • You can combine events, challenges etc.
  • Page count must be over 100 pages to qualify.
  • The Rafflecopter will only allow you to enter up to two books daily, so update as soon as you finish a book.
  • Use hashtag #TakeControlTBR
  • Twitter Party March 11, 2018, at 2:30 pm (CST). Come chat about books you have read and win prizes.
  • Earn extra entries for participating in the Twitter Party.
  • Rafflecopter will close on April 2, 2018, at midnight and a winner will be chosen within 72 hours. Open internationally as long as Book Depository ships to you. Prize: New 2018 release valued at up to 20 US dollars or 1 Audiobook Credit from Audiobooks.com. Kimberly will do pre-orders as well (may request eBook copy from Amazon or B& N).

Most of the drill is familiar. Grab the image from Caffeinated Reviewer and share the event. The chance to sign-up (just click the word and you are right there) for this challenge ends on March 3rd. Don´t forget to link back to the sign-up post over at her blog so friends can join in.

Okay, enough of the talking. Let´s have some fun here.

Happy reading to all of us!

  2. This is an awesome challenge. I try to read a mix of back list titles and new releases but usually fall short of what I mean too.

    1. Hihi, guess we share the same "problem" *smile* Bringing my TBR down a bit is always good. No matter how many books I end up reading for this challenge in the end *lol* Thanks for stopping by.

  3. I signed up about 2 weeks ago. My goal is 10 books. March is one of my not so busy months so I'm hoping I can really push through some books! I've tried to pick out some books I'm really interested in getting read for this! Good luck on your goals for the challenge! :)

    1. Thank you. Well, I have no clue how I will end up with this Twitter party. Sitting in Europe with the time difference - I don´t know. Last time I fell asleep and had no change to chat. I´ll see how it this time will be *lol* Thanks for stopping by.

  5. I'm doing something similar, but it's a year long challenge called Beat the Backlist. I have over 350 books on my Goodreads tbr. Ugh. Good luck! I like to set my challenge goals lower than I expect to do, too, because I hate failing on reading goals. XD
