Oh my gosh! This was one hell of a fantastic read! Don´t expect the normal Cecelia Ahern here, oh no. Flawed is far from that and even better! Can´t wait to read the second book of this dilogy. I didn´t call myself a big Ahern fan - until now that is. Yes, I read some of her books and one or the other I actually loved, but not more. Then I found this book at my library, got caught by its cover and after reading the summary, I knew I had to read it.

Celestine North lives a perfect life. She´s a model daughter and sister, she´s well-liked by her classmates and teachers, and she´s dating the impossible charming Art Crevan. But then Celestine encounters a situation in which she makes an instinctive decision. She breaks a rule and now faces life-changing repercussions. She could be imprisoned. She could be branded. She could be found FLAWED.
Story
Celestine is happy. She is in love with her boyfriend Art, lives a perfect life, and has no worries whatsoever. Well, okay, she worries all the time not being perfect enough, but as long as she can go where ever she wants, do whatever she wants, and make plans for her future, everything is fine. The moment she acts instinctively changes everything. And when she has the courage to step up to judge Crevan and follows again her instincts, she enters a completely new world. The world of the flawed.

Style
This book is completely different from every other Ahern book I´ve read so far. She changed her tone, her writing style is very fast, very diversified, there are some unexpected twists and turns and within no time this YA novel turns into a haunting thriller. From the first page to the last Cecelia Ahern knows how to capture the reader’s eye and brings up some emotions I usually didn´t put in the same line with her name. There is an unexpected depth in the plot and the main character that amazes you to the fullest. I am not saying, she hasn´t created wonderful characters in all her other novels, no, but in this one, you actually start to feel the pain, the happiness, and the weight on your chest during some scenes and that weight gets bigger and bigger the more you read.

Cecelia Ahern created in Flawed a society where you have to live by very strict rules. There is no room for the unexpected, no room for being really creative or follow your guts. The picture the author is drawing is a fascinating one and a very frightening one. And it reminded me of some things that are actually happening in our real world and are as dark and frightening as well. The society has to be perfect. Mistakes are not allowed and the people have to follow strict rules. And when they are marked as flawed, even stricter ones.

Characters
Celestine is a wonderful and beautiful girl. She comes in many ways after her mother, who is a supermodel, and sees every day how perfection looks like. The moment she does the unexpected and stands up to follow her guts, she changes completely. No perfection, no fearless life. How she deals with that, how she copes with all the pain and new things that storm right into her face is remarkable and forms a very interesting character right in front of your eyes.

Her mother is another figure that amazed me completely. She goes completely with her daughter’s destiny, refuses to let anyone harm her again and her way of showing the world what happens right in front of them is very unique and remarkable as well. What a fantastic mother!

Conclusion
Holy gosh, this was amazing! A completely different Ahern with power in her story and her words. Absolutely thrilling, haunting, frightening, and shocking at the same time. You will get through an emotional ride par excellence and meet a totally new Cecelia Ahern. Highly recommended.

Happy reading
