This is a series I kind of fell in love with from the first moment. The author duo created not only some fantastic characters but also wonderful stories about them. I still remember how much I laughed during reading Beautiful Bastard, how great I was entertained during that reading. And yes, Bennett Ryan was and still is my favorite of this series, but every one of them has its very own good things and edges.

When Ruby Miller´s boss announces he´s sending her on an extended business trip to New York City, she´s shocked. As one of the best and brightest young engineers in London, she knows she´s professionally up to the task. The part that´s throwing her is where she´ll be spending a month, up close and personal, working alongside – and staying in a hotel with – Niall Stella, her firm´s top urban planning executive and The Hottest Man Alive. Despite her ongoing crush, Ruby is certain, Niall barely knows she´s alive – until their flirty overnight flight makes him sit up and take notice. Not one for letting loose and breaking rules, recently divorced Niall would describe himself as hopeless when it comes to women. But even he knows outgoing California-girl Ruby is a breath of fresh air. Once she makes it her mission to help the sexy Brit loosen his tie, there´s no turning back. Thousands of miles from London, it´s easy for the lovers to play pretend. But when the trip is over, will the relationship they´ve built up fall down?
Story
Ruby works hard to get her dreams fulfilled and each week she has one day in the company she practically lives for: the meeting where she will see Niall Stella. And when her boss announces to her, that she has to go on his behalf on a business trip with Niall Stella, she is nervous and excited beyond anything. Four weeks working closely with the hottest man on the planet, can there be anything better?

Style
The story is told from Ruby´s point of view as well as from Niall´s, but it changes from chapter to chapter. With this change, the reader gets to know how Ruby sees things and what Niall feels about everything that happens. In London Ruby lives a life ruled by her work. Her friends and family are in the US and she has only one goal. Become part of a team, a woman leads she admires very much. But to achieve that, she has to give her best during her time at the company Niall is part of.

Christina Lauren uses a simple and clear language and presents a well-written style. There are a few hot and steamy scenes and I will never forget the one in that bar when Ruby and Niall wait for a concert to start. That was literally vertical sex – but not against a wall.

Characters
No doubt, Christina Lauren knows how to create characters. In this book, the man is the one who is very insecure about almost everything when it comes to conquering a woman. And in the beginning, I found that kind of sweet and very attractive. But when Ruby´s behavior pattern started to show up I felt during some scenes a bit weird. Yes, it was kind of fun to watch her being patient, to show Niall what she wanted and how she did it. But I figured out that I prefer the man to be the leading part when it comes to sexual desires and how to do things – at least in the bedroom.

Ruby is the one who is more experienced, and she is the one, who can understand a lot of things since she was raised by two psychologists. And at first, I found it very fun to see how she dealt with the fact that Niall had, despite his handsomeness, no experience with other women at all. That he was as far away from being a womanizer as the moon is away from earth.
But after a while, I couldn´t help but think ´common boy, get started. So yes, I had my moments where I wasn´t that happy with how things went, though I enjoyed this novel a lot. But no character is as good as Bennett. None.

Conclusion
After this book was standing for quite some time now on my shelf, I finally decided to read it and what can I say? It was a very wonderful read. Not as entertaining and great as the Beautiful Bastard, but enjoyable for a couple of hours – didn´t take much longer to read it. Yes, I had a good time with it. For every fan of this series: Read!

Happy reading

The coauthor duo writes both Young Adult, and Adult Fiction, and together has produced twelve New York Times bestselling novels. They are published in over 28 languages, have received starred reviews from Kirkus, been selected as one of NPR´s Top 100 Swoon-Worthy Romances, and won both the Seal of Excellence award and Book of the Year from RT Magazine. Lauren Billings has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy of two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, bestie to a shoe-stealer, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance. Christina Hobbs used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. These days you´ll probably find her on Tumblr. She is married and absolutely not old enough to be the mom of a 15-year-old (right??), thinks she´s the luckiest person in the world to write books with her best friend and is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter. She also likes to steal Lauren´s shoes.
