I was so eager to find out how that terrible accident had ended, that I couldn´t wait to get my hands on this last book of the series. But to be honest, it couldn´t live up to my expectations. Sad to say it, but it is the truth. Either they were way too high, or I am simply grown out of it. Still trying to figure out which one it is….

Ever since Hartley Wright met Easton Royal, her life hasn´t been the same. There are enemies behind every corner and dangers beyond each door. When tragedy strikes and steals her memories, she can´t trust anyone, not even the blue-eyed boy who promises her that everything will be all right. Because while Hartley´s memory is full of gaps, her instincts tell her Easton is dangerous. She doesn´t know if he´s the snake in the garden or her chance at salvation. The chaos he brings wherever he goes is too much to handle, the intense feelings he evokes are too confusing to unravel. Easton wants her to remember. Hartley think´s it´s is better to forget. She might be right.
Story
Hartley finds herself in the hospital after she wakes up. Everything hurts, and it is difficult for her to remember anything. Because there is a huge black hole in her head. And why is her family acting so strangely? Her sisters avoiding her seems to be mad. Her mother treats her like a piece of something she´d rather don´t want to know and her classmates are acting weird. Is she really the evil girl everyone wants her to believe? And why is Easton behaving as if they were together?

Style
The tone is, despite all the drama in this book, light and easy to read. But after a while, I kind of got annoyed that Hartley believed everyone around her more than her own instincts. It seemed as if she´d lost her common sense during the accident. No matter what the others tell her, she is willing to think that they are right. Hello?! I can´t exactly put a finger on it, but some parts seemed to be very man-made. Sure, there was some really good drama here, but I missed something. The special something. This last book of the series wasn´t what I´ve expected. And the huge drinking problem Easton obviously has didn´t make it better.

Characters
Being a teenager isn´t easy, that´s right. And being at school during a certain age isn´t the most fun, that´s right too. But why in God´s name can´t a girl trust her own instincts anymore only because she´s lost her memories? I am not sure if I am too hard on Hartley now, but the way how she got treated by some of her schoolmates, and how she let them treat her, was in my eyes horror.

Conclusion
Well, it wasn´t my book. It wasn´t a completely bad read, don´t get me wrong here. But not thrilling either. Guess I can call it a nice read, but nothing I had to take with me everywhere I went. Well … sad.

Happy reading
