is a weekly event that was originally hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating with pure joy. There are a lot of new books coming out each year and some of them catch my attention and will get a spotlight in my Waiting on Wednesday post. While some of them will finally end up here at my place, others won´t. I am joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can´t-Wait Wednesday.

Yep, I know, I am late with my post, I know. The past days were filled with some senseless appointments that cost me nothing but time and sitting in front of my laptop and writing was not really an option. To be honest, I´m not very happy with the cover design or the colors. And the soft touch it seems to have isn´t really mine either. Somehow dreamy.

But what matters to me is the story between the two book covers. And while still reading the second book, The Wicked King (yap, it takes me a bit longer than expected) I guess I will be waiting for this book without that much joy - concerning the cover. The story itself, between the two book covers, is a completely different thing. Sure, I am eager to find out how things will end, but on the other hand I DON´T WANT THEM TO END. Does that make sense?

After being pronounced Queen of Faerie and then abruptly exiled by the Wicked King Cardan, Jude finds herself unmoored, the queen of nothing. She spends her time with Vivi and Oak, watches her fair share of reality-television, and does the odd job or two, including trying to convince a cannibalistic faerie from hunter her own in the mortal world. When her twin sister Taryn shows up asking for a favor, Jude jumps at the chance to return to the Faerie world, even if it means facing Cardan, who she loves despite his betrayal. When a dark curse is unveiled, Jude must become the first mortal Queen of Faerie and uncover how to break the curse, or risk upsetting the balance of the whole Faerie world.

    1. Her book The Cruel Prince was the first, that convinced me to read other books written by her. Before that, I did not like her style or plot at all. Thanks for stopping by.

  3. Totally makes sense. When there's a good story and it's well written, you want to know what happens, but you don't want it to end at the same time. Hope you enjoy your pick! My WoW

  6. Oh wow, that cover! I still need to read the second book in the series, but if it's anywhere near as good as the first book, I know I'll be excited for this one too.
