Brilliant. Brilliant. BRILLIANT! Holy smokes, I am thrilled. Even as a huge ToG fan, I think that this is the best book I´ve ever read by the author. And I am asking myself why in God´s name I´ve waited so long to read it. I mean, I read ACOTAR almost right after it was published, and had planned to read this one as soon as I would have it. But then … TBR.

Feyre survived Amarantha´s clutches to return to the Spring Court – but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can´t forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin´s people. Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms – and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shaper her future – and the future of a world torn apart.
Story
Feyre is broken. Literally broken. Now as a High Fae, and back at the Spring Court with Tamlin, she feels nothing. Her nightmares are hard to bear, and with Tamlin overprotecting her minute by minute, she sees the walls closing in on her. It seems, that her life has taken a turn to the worse. Only Rhysand is giving her every month for a week some sort of solitude where she can just be Feyre. But the moment she finds out, that Tamlin has blocked her up in his house, she is in such panic that Rhysand has no choice but to offer her something, Feyre never thought she would want.

Style
This novel is full of unexpected twists and turns and shows a world, where nothing is as it seems. Sarah J. Maas has kept her writing style. The soft tones, the clear language, and her great style of describing things and letting the reader do the rest with his very own imagination. I love that. You can imagine my surprise when I started to see one figure in a completely different light. As it was the intention of the author, I suppose. I mean, all the answers Sarah J. Maas gave throughout the book to her readers in some of the scenes, that was like finding the perfect place to be. I could actually FEEL the warmth, the beauty, and the peace Feyre discovered while being where she was. Oh yes, Sarah J. Maas´ fantasy is quite something.

Characters
It was actually really hard for me to see what had become of Feyre. The Feyre in here got nothing to do with the one I loved in ACOTAR. Yes, I know that she was reborn as a High Fae and therefore couldn´t be the same anymore. But how she was suffering and calling for help that in the end didn´t come from Tamlin, that was a bad surprise. But later on, when I saw how Feyre changed, how she healed and started to live again, that was great to watch. And now, after finishing this book I´d say that she is the perfect combination of all that was given to her by the author. While reading the first chapters, I literally became angry with Tamlin. Very angry. How in the world could he treat her the way he did? How could he ignore her needs, deny her healing, and instead leave her out of all of his plans? He turned into something I still can´t name and don´t like at all. But for the ongoing story, the further plot is was the best way the author could do. And all the misunderstandings, conflicts, and warlike situations are brought to life – wow!

Conclusion
This was bloody brilliant! Full of emotions, passion, hate, blood, action, and with figures that show what Fantasy and a great author are capable. Holy smokes. I still feel the vibration that ripped through Feyre at the end of this story. And can´t wait to read the next book. Highly recommended.

Happy reading
