With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Sunday Post #115

I know I have been silent for the last two weeks. To be honest, I am still dealing with the so called Covid-19 aftermath. Doing normal things like washing the dishes or vacuuming the floor isn´t as easy as it used to be. Afterward, I am exhausted as if I´ve run a marathon without any previous training.

I had a second PCR Test on April 9th, which turned out negative and my last day in quarantine got officially called finished in the morning hours of April 12th. The next day I went outside for a walk with a very wobbly feeling. My circulatory system is still not fit, I miss my sense of taste and my sense of smell is still severely impaired. Despite that, I was busy until the end of that week (April 18th) taking care of everything that was put on hold during my infection. Bank, food, drink, laundry, you name it.

The past week was a bit of a hell of a week. The moment my parents heard from me that I was well again and no longer in quarantine, I literally was back into daily life. Looking for a vaccination appointment for my stepmom and talking with some of my neighbors to sort things out. Well, I know now that the Covid Infection has cost me almost half of my friend’s circle and to talk about my “very nice neighbors” isn´t worth a minute of my life. It´s their problem, not mine, if you ask me.

This Tuesday, I was all day in the garden. We had gorgeous weather all week long with incredible blue skies and lots of sun. As you can see, I am making progress. Slow progress but it is visible progress. I need more time now to get things done but it feels so damn good to be able to go outside again and feel the wind or the sun in my face. Yes, I feel totally exhausted afterwards and it will probably take weeks before I am back to where I was physically before the infection. But one step at a time.

Wednesday and Thursday I had to relax and went only outside to get me some food and drinks.

On Friday I was around eight hours on the phone to get my stepmom her vaccination appointment. I was so happy when I finally got a connection and had someone on the other side. Only to hear that they were having technically problems and no appointment available. Saturday, I went first to the supermarket and when I got back home, I went straight to the telephone and no thirty minutes later, I was able to book my stepmom her vaccination appointment.

Hallelujah!

If everything goes the way it is planned, both of my parents will be safe by the end of July and we can finally come together again and meet in person and HUG each other again. That´s what I am looking forward to the most. Next week I will have my first follow-up check since my infection. I am still afraid that there could be a big end to the virus. On the other hand I think positive and pray that I will recover completely.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  2. I hope you feel better soon! It can take so long to feel normal again with all the long term fatigue, which sucks. Glad you were able to get outside though! And that you can see family soon.

    Take care this week!

    1. I hope too, that I will fully recover. But when I look at all those in the ICU, I am glad that I was able to fight it at home.
