is a weekly event that was originally hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine. This meme is a place that spotlights upcoming releases that we´re eagerly anticipating with pure joy. There are a lot of new books coming out each year and some of them catch my attention and will get a spotlight in my Waiting on Wednesday post. While some of them will finally end up here at my place, others won´t. I am joining Tressa at Wishful Endings and her meme Can´t-Wait Wednesday.

To be honest, I am not happy with the cover design of the German edition of Blacklist or the new title. I am a cover girl; it matters to me how it is designed because it is the first thing, I see that either grabs my attention or not before I read the summary or anything else that gives me a hint of what I can expect from the story itself. This cover looks a bit too cheesy for my taste *sigh* But, it is the story between the two bookcases that is important, right? Right. From time to time I like to read a Geneva Lee novel. I loved the first book of her Royals Saga and am eager to find out if this one is in the same style or a tad different.

Adair MacLaine was sunshine and the storm. Emerald-green eyes and attitude, I fell for her the moment we met and hated her just as quickly. Five years ago, tragedy brought her to my door and sparked a love that consumed us like wildfire - hot, unpredictable, and impossible to control. We raged together until her father made her choose between me and the family name. I left. She stayed. I’m no longer the poor kid that lost her. I’ve made myself into a man that won’t be ignored. Now her father is dead, the MacLaine empire is crumbling, and Adair’s inheritance depends on the company’s largest investor: me. My whole life changed the night I met Sterling Ford. Brilliant and intense, he came to Valmont with nothing but a scholarship and a chip on his shoulder. He was a grenade and I wanted to pull the pin. We were doomed from the first kiss. I’ve waited for my chance to seize my freedom and now it's finally in reach - until the last person I ever wanted to see again walks into my father’s funeral: him.

The cover was first published in 2020 as "Blacklist"

  1. I agree about the cover looking cheesy. The story itself sounds really good though so I hope you enjoy it.

    1. I had hoped, that the German publisher would be able to use the cover of the English eBook that shows some black leaves with a rosé background. Ah well...

    1. It does, indeed. A sentence like this is typically Geneva Lee *smile*
