With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #212

No new book.

Sunday Post #169

Last Sunday I visited some blogs, created new blogging content, worked on some new blog ideas, and tried to rescue what was left from my seeding project. Not much, to be honest. Monday and Tuesday were kinds of pale days. I finally booked my M-Screening appointment, after five months of pushing it further and further away. That screening is laying like a stone on my chest.

On Wednesday, I started to get everything I needed for the long Pentecost weekend, paid some bills, bought some Oregano plants, and drew some garden drafts. I have so many ideas, but not everything is – unfortunately – doable. Later, I went into the garden to prepare the soil for the new plants. My kitchen is packed with plants, and I started to fill my basket with the first few ones and planted them.

On Thursday I watched Trooping the Color. After that, I went to the supermarket. And oh hello, the herbs were down to 1,49. I bought some more Oregano and a gorgeous looking big woodland sage. Always dreamed of having one in my garden. But with the weather forecast telling me that we will get some severe weather over the next two days, the planting will have to wait. I brought my shopping items back home and went out again to the nearby garden center, where I bought some Irish moss and other plants. Back home, I saw that one of the major German TV stations will air the Thanksgiving service for the Queen live so I programmed my receiver to watch it later.

The next morning, Friday, I bought a new refill for the SodaStream and saw that the herbs were now 99cent, so another plant went back home with me. What will they cost tomorrow, 49cent? Later I wrote some reviews and tried to read a bit.

Saturday was a short day. I slept long, took care of my household, and bought the last few items at the supermarket. And yep, the herbs I had bought all week, now down to 49 cents and – of course – empty. Good, it was 3pm so, no wonder. Later back home, I saw that my old neighbor was outside, and we had a nice little chat about the new planting I want to do in the garden. Especially around his stone terrace. So, I needed his permission for that. I got it and can now take that damn plastic cover down he used to keep the grass at bay. Looks terrible. While we were talking about my planting plans, he asked me if I could help him with a delivery he had gotten. Of course, I could. Ten minutes later I was overjoyed. Not only was I able to set up the large, heavy box, but I was also able to easily load the part onto a handcart and fix it with rubber bands. Seems my recovery training was worth every drop of sweat.

After a quick change into my garden clothes, I took the plants and garden tools downstairs and managed to plant one oregano before my father´s best friend and his wife showed up. We had a nice little talk about family and the weather. A severe storm was about to hit us – according to our weather forecast. We stood in bright sunshine and clear blue skies. No cloud in sight. Well, while I was writing this post (around 11 pm), I was still waiting for the rain to come. Nothing happened. I extended some library books online and answered an email from a publisher, where they offered the chance to win a book package for a book, I had already asked last November to get a review copy. *Fingers crossed* Later, I watched BBC news, to see how the concert for the Queen was going.

Today, Sunday, after an almost sleepless night, I got up late, enjoyed a light breakfast, and started finishing this post. And while writing the last few sentences the weather changed from sunny to dark. Within a few minutes, thunder rumbled, strong winds and a heavy downpour hit, and it was getting dark.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. Your gardening must be satisfying. I’d like to grows something herbs but I am the proverbial black thumb.
I don’t know what an M screening is but I hope it goes well
It’s winter here now so there’s plenty of rain, and it’s cold (by Australian standards)

Wishing you a great reading week

    1. The gardening keeps me sane, Shelleyrae. With the "M screening" I meant the mammography screening checkup every woman in Germany gets an invitation to from her health insurance company when she turns 50. It´s free and voluntary and yes, I hope it will go well.

  2. Well you are certainly getting some planting done. What do you do with all the oregano? I use it when I make meatballs and it's delicious but I haven't anything else where I use it. We get rain here, even downpours sometimes, but many days with rain projected we don't get any rain.

    1. The garden is big and I am planning on planting some herbs where the summer house is. It stands on the other end of the garden. The neighbor it belongs to, gets some Oregano too.

    1. I wanted one or two herb spots in the garden because some herbs keep bugs etc. away so I planted lavender, thyme and some wild herbs like borage and other herbs. I love how they look, some of them even bloom, and that way I got wild bees, bumblebees and other insects back into the garden. And they help me with the weeds *lol*

    2. That sounds wonderful! I'd love to grow some herbs. I can imagine it does keep some bugs away, and growing wild herbs like oregano (which I love to sprinkle on food) would be fun.

    3. Most bugs don´t like the smell herbs have. And that helps me *smile*
