With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*
I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Sunday Post #204
Last Saturday, my neighbor next door gave me the sweeping week sign. So, my week started Monday morning with a broom and a dustpan. It took me a solid hour to get everything cleaned. After that, I was so wet, I had to shower.
I have no clue why it is, but I can´t focus long enough to start and finish a chapter. My current read is A Magic Steeped in Poison. Tuesday and Wednesday, I tried to focus on some reviews, and reading. The weather all week long was April weather. Rain, sun, wind, blue skies, grey skies. Ugh.
On Thursday, I had the promotion box for the book Gameshow in the mail. I took it upstairs but don´t feel any joy. The box was filled with some popcorn, a small golden bag, and the book itself. Since Thursday I am busy trying to find a nursing home for my dad. Because of his dementia, he can´t go into a standard nursing home. German law is very clear and strict about that. And as far as I understand it, with good reasons. But tell that a man who is one minute clear and in the present and the next in the past and with an empty face looking at you. Heartbreaking.
I spent Saturday on an emotional rollercoaster. And called my stepbrother for the first time in years to ask for help and his opinion. Not sure how things will unfold next week when he is on vacation and I can´t call him in case things go completely downhill here. And with all the drama unfolding the past week, I totally forgot that we have to turn the clock an hour forward. Grrr!
How was your week? Stay safe and healthy
Happy reading
That is heartbreaking, and I'm so sorry. I wish you all the best as you check options. It's hard when they get older and the decisions are not easy ones.
ReplyDeleteThe weather here has been pretty cold- no warm but it's supposed to this week perhaps.
Thank you, Greg. We´ve got pure April weather now. Spring is definitely over *sigh*
DeleteI am so sorry about your dad. My mom doesn't know who we are sometimes now. But we put her in assisted living before she was not remembering so much. She fell and broke her hip and she just couldn't always do things herself anymore, even though she really wants to be independent.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Thank you, Anne.
DeleteI hope you are able to find somewhere comfortable for your father soon
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great reading week
The waiting lists are long. It can take up to a year before he will get a place, if at all.
