With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it.  And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #128

No new books this week. Sorry …

Sunday Post #85

On Thursday I saw the first airplane in the skies after almost six months. I was helping my neighbors to get their Hollywood swing up again, after the severe storm Kirsten had knocked it over. And holy moly that thing was heavy! Was a bit of dancing around each other with the socially distancing thing while I helped to bring that swing back into a stable position *smile* But I enjoyed it very much. My neighbors live now for almost forty years in that building two floors below where I live and whenever I need some information about something, they can help me.

We had quite some fun together and when I started checking the roof and the trees we have around the building; I noticed the airplane in the sky. A shiny silver line in an incredibly blue sky followed by a white tale of dust. It was a wow-moment and scary at the same time. Scary because I fear that we will be soon at the point again where the climate is at the same critical point as it was before the virus hit us. Know what I mean? The air is cleaner and smells completely different now and we know now for sure that we don´t have to fly to every business meeting just to solve a problem. The pandemic has shown us that we can do it if we only want to. I am not a climate activist and for sure not a green lady but even I know that we can´t keep going the way we handled things in the past. Not if we want to give our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren a planet to live on in a healthy and sustainable way.

The weather during the past days had been a mixture of sunny, rainy, warm, and cold days. Autumn is definitely coming closer. I finally finished the editing of my older blog posts, did some blog hopping and binge-watched Gilmore Girls. One of the series´ you can´t watch enough, right? I hope that the episodes that were produced for Netflix a few years ago will be on free TV soon. Rory and Lorelei Gilmore are fun to watch even though I saw the series a few years ago already. And I watched The Intern with Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway a couple of times. And realized that August is almost over. Don´t ask me why that movie made me realize that, but today is the last August Sunday and I am asking myself where the time has been. On the other hand, I am glad that time is moving fast this year. I am already done with 2020 and can´t wait to hear the words that we don´t have to wear masks anymore or keep our physical distance from each other.

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. yes I hope we all have learned about things we can do differently during COVID. It's still hot here and no rain so I'd like a tease of Autumn. We actually got Netflix to watch that Gilmore Girls sequel episodes. I have not watched much since by my daughter watches it and Amazon Prime. I read.

  2. I live in the flight path of two airports and a military base, so I hear planes constantly, even during COVID. My life would be weird without plane noise. I understand what you’re saying, though. I’m secretly hoping that COVID teaches the world that a slower-paced life can be good for us. Maybe we don’t need multi-hour commutes and constant business travel. I hope you have a good week!
