With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #143

I finally had the time to change my audible credits into audiobooks before I canceled my membership.

Sunday Post #100

Last Sunday I noticed that somewhen during the week before I had written and posted my 900th blog post so a cheer to that. I visited some blogs and tried to read some more pages of The Priory of the Orange Tree part ll. Wasn´t very successful with that; I did everything else but reading. I bought some audiobooks with the credits I had left and gone through the new program from a German publisher. I am quite late with that list and hope that some of the books I picked will get the approval *fingers crossed*

Monday afternoon I was so restless despite the yard work that I went to the library to get some books. It feels strange to be there knowing that one of the library ladies is no longer working there and with the two new ones I am not happy, to say the least. Thank god that the other Mrs. B is still working there. In the evening I finally chose my third audiobook for the last credit and went back to reading the novel I had started Sunday night.

Tuesday and Wednesday were kind of quiet days. Because of the mixed weather, I couldn´t do much in the garden and tried to read a bit. The discussion about a total lockdown has come up again in the media because of the rising Corona numbers. My stepmom called me to ask about Christmas and how we can do it. It is not easy to make plans with changed rules hanging in the air. We agreed that we would decide how we can celebrate at a minimum risk for them a few days before the 24th. The rest of the day I read and reviewed one of the six books I have a deadline by the 31st and started my third.

On Thursday I went again to the library, this time with a huge trolley, and picked as many books as I could out of the shelves. Mrs. B was happy as hell when she saw the stack of books I had started piling up on her counter and told her that I wasn´t done yet with piling up while she was scanning them. She and the other ladies had asked us, readers, to borrow as many books as possible on the last open day on December 10th before the library is moving into the new building over Christmas and new year and many were following that call with delight.

And in the evening, I finally finished and published the first review of the six books I have left to read before Silvester night. The night from Thursday to Friday I was mostly reading, and Friday was a black day for me. I totally overslept. Seems that I do that a lot lately. In the late Friday afternoon, I heard the new Corona numbers and was shocked. Yes, there are countries in the world with way higher numbers, but for Germany? And when I heard the Minister of the state I am living in talking about a total Lockdown and that he was thinking about imposing it before Christmas, I knew it was serious.

Friday late afternoon I cleaned my kitchen and started reading the third book from my December TBR. The result, another sleepless night. I finished the title in the early Saturday morning ours, turned on the news, and started writing my next reviews. I was doing that all morning and then put on my garden clothes and went downstairs for the last work there. The garden path is now cleaned and all I have left to do is to pull out the last two roots and the stump. I am planning on doing that next week. One of my neighbors made me an ax and with that, I hope to get out the last two roots once and for all.

The rest of Saturday I was on the phone with my parents again. We are under a new curfew now. From 8 pm until 5 am we are not allowed to leave the house. Except for work, a medical emergency, or we take a minor to her home. I talked with my stepmom about my dad’s upcoming birthday next Saturday and about Christmas again. She asked me to get her a calendar from my local drugstore – she loves them - and I was relieved that I had already at home what she was asking for. Now, I have some calendars for almost everyone but me *smile* Guess, I will get mine later.

Today, on Sunday, I again overslept completely. Despite that I had gone early to bed last night, I woke up late. And to be honest, when I looked at my clock, I thought that it is a joke. And that is the reason why I am so late with my Sunday Post today. I guess the uncertain situation of the past week has made my body react to everything with sleep. I hate that! I woke up to the news that we will have a total lockdown from next Wednesday on and it feels weird. There is no shock, like last time in Spring. There is no fear most of us felt in Spring. And with the shopping malls filled with masses of people doing their last Christmas shopping and long lines in the streets with waiting customers, you can tell that the people are not in panic anymore. The situation is different this time. Very different …

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  4. I'm glad you were able to get your audiobooks and library books. Things are bad out there. We have stayed home like lockdown since March. It hasn't been that bad. We like our home and it isn't forever.

  6. You're under lockdown again, I heard on the news, at least you have a stock of books to read ! I bet Mrs B was happy to see all those books she wouldn't have to pack up for the move ^^ If you oversleep that much, it's probably because you need it ? The lockdown is lightened up here in France (it didn't really feel as if there was a lockdown, anyway, not really). Enjoy your books and your gardens, take care :)
