With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Sunday Post #111

Today is the state election and I have muscle soreness from buying bark mulch, plants, and food yesterday. I already voted by absentee vote a few weeks ago and am glad that I can relax today.

My week was kind of a quiet one. I slept long, read a bit, downloaded some covers, did some editing, and started preparing some posts. On Saturday I thought I could go and start creating the garden paths with the bark mulch but no chance. We´ve got a severe storm warning and with the thought in mind, that our fire tree is half-dead and has a lot of dry branches in it, I didn´t dare to work in the garden. Instead, I went upstairs again and called my parents to see how they were doing. My stepmom has been sick for some days now with a gastrointestinal infection but the family isn´t convinced that it is just that. Her doctor refused to test her for covid, which is something I absolutely can´t understand.

Despite that, I am dealing with some other problems too. Two weeks ago, it was the plumbing, this time it is the heating. My apartment is icy, and I have no clue if it is only a technical problem or something else. Ugh … it seems March is the month with technical issues …

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  1. I am sorry that the doctor won't check her for COVID. And I really hope your next week is better than this one.

  2. How can the doctor refuse to test her for Covid? That's insane! I had to get a test just because I was sneezing a bit... I hope she'll be alright.

    1. I have no idea why her doctor was acting that way. His refusal would be a reason for me to go and look for another doctor. The only good thing is, my stepmom feels much better now although she´s not completely well again.

  3. I'm sorry you are having troubles. Our local garden center doesn't open until March 21 but I will look forward to visiting after being vaccinated. Of course, I will still wear a mask. It's great you could vote absentee and don't have to worry about it.

    1. I agree with the mask and social distancing even when a person is vaccinated. Because you never know if the opposite is vaccinated too. Guess it is the pandemic because this year I noticed that I need some color. Not only inside but outside too. And I am looking forward to getting me a willow catkin. Love how they look and bloom in early spring.

  4. Oh no I'm sorry to hear that, and also that they won't test her. That seems odd! I hope she is better soon and it isn't serious. Also I hope the building issues work out for you as well. Take car this week!

    1. I only say stupid neighbor. My landlord is furious and I can only hope that my neighbor does not come up with another stupid idea while renovating his apartment. Shit happens when people refuse to listen to others with more experience. Well ...
