With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it. And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Caffeinated Reviewer and Reading Reality and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #216

Sunday Post #173

My Sundays have become somehow lazy days. I slept long, wrote my Weekly Book Wrap-Up, visited some other blogs, tried to read my current book (not very successful), watered parts of the garden, and watched some TV.

Monday, I went through my usual routine. A trip into town and later to the supermarket and after that I took care of a new flower bed. It took me almost three hours to clear the bed of all the weeds and dig up the soil and prepare it for new flower seeds. Monday is also the day when I love to watch Grey´s Anatomy in the evening.

On Tuesday I have finally sown and watered the flower seeds. Now I'm curious to see which flowers will grow and bloom at all. Later I watched the CHIO Aachen Opening ceremony on TV. An international equestrian tournament that lasts several days and shows show jumping, cross-country riding, and dressage.

Wednesday was another very warm day. The weather forecast keeps telling me, that we will get some rain, but so far not a drop in sight. Instead, we get the heat coming up from Africa. And with that, a discussion about gas and if and how Germany and Germans will be able to heat their houses, water, or apartments in the upcoming winter. In the evening I watched Escape to the Chateau, one of my favorite TV shows, and tried to forget my thoughts about the next few months.

We finally got our severe rainfall. Not as predicted, but we got it. The entire Thursday it was humid and very, very warm. But on Friday night it finally started to rain. A glorious downpour fell all night.

The next day, Friday was a happy day. I bought the famous and very popular 9 Euro Ticket for July. After almost three years I stepped for the first time on a bus, wearing an FFP2 mask. It was a weird feeling. After that, I paid the last and final rate and closed my account. What a great feeling *smile*. I feel light as a feather. As if a rock has been lifted off my shoulders. At home, I did some blogging stuff, cleaned my kitchen, and later, in the evening I celebrated the closing of the unhappy chapter with a glass of rosé wine spritzer and some Lays chips. It feels so great, that that is now finally over, and I can hopefully put all those bad memories away for good.

My Saturday was a really lazy day. I slept long, took care of my household, and later went to the supermarket to get myself some things for the weekend. I bought some huge stem cabbage (Kohlrabi) for -,49 cents the piece. Last week, they had been tiny and twice as expensive.

Today, Sunday, I slept long after another sleepless night. I wrote this post and watched a bit of TV. Later is a bit watering of the garden in order because we are having another very hot weekend and my new lawn needs to grow …

How was your week? Stay safe and healthy.

Happy reading

  2. I missed the earlier saga about the bus and the euro ticket so I don't know what you're talking about but since you are glad the bad memories can be put away now, you probably don't want to rehash it just to satisfy my curiousity. Ha ha.

    1. The ticket is an offer and try from our government to get more people into using the public transportation system. Germany has one of the highest gas prices in Europe and the past weeks and months have been very hard for most people with cars *sigh*
