With the Weekly Book Wrap-Up, I give you a bit of an insight into all the new books that have arrived at my place. No matter if I won a giveaway, got approved for a reviewer´s copy, an ARC, or just bought one myself. Everything that I add to my shelves, in what way ever and read during the past week or am still reading, I will write about it.  And maybe I tell you a bit about the upcoming things on Inkvotary, that is if I don´t forget it and have something to share with you *smile*

I am linking up with Tynga´s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer and hope you´ll have fun reading it and maybe get the one or the other book inspiration.

Stacking The Shelves #89

Oh well, no new books here.

Sunday Post #46

The past week had started very quietly. Monday I was busy bringing my Library account UpToDate and on Tuesday I had some sort of a do-nothing-day.

On Wednesday morning I noticed that something was not right with my toilet. Whenever I had to flush it, a few minutes later the water started to rinse again. Well, that changed in the afternoon for the worse. The valve that controls the water flow into the tank, broke, and within seconds half of my bathroom floor was a half-inch underwater. It took me some solid five minutes to turn off the water. Result: I was soaking wet, and to be honest, in panic. I decided to get my furniture out of the water first before I would start to dry the floor. And while doing that, I noticed how much stuff I had put into the drawers. Way too much, if you´d ask me.

Then came another bad surprise. After I had moved the big closet, I saw that the wall behind it is broken. There are some huge cracks in it, and one looks so bad, I was shocked when I saw it. The wall literally looks as if someone from the other side tries to get into the bathroom. And here in Germany, the houses are built with bricks or concrete walls. If a wall looks like she is turning into a room, it is never a good sign. And it takes a lot of effort to fix it. There is no wood you can just saw out and behind it, you see all the wires and cables that are usually in a wall. After I was done with the rescue of my closet and had wiped the bathroom dry again, I called my landlord and became a bit pissed, because I went straight to his answering machine. F**k. I start to hate that thing. Not particular this one, but all those machines. I told him what I had to say by using the words “the water tank from the toilet just exploded”. After he had called me back a short time later, and we had sorted things out, I was waiting for the plumber to call me back.

On Thursday I had to get up early to get all my grocery shopping done and the other things I had planned for that day before I could freshen up a bit because you don´t want to stand in front of a stranger sweating and completely looking out of your mind, right? After all that was done, I was waiting, again, for the plumber to arrive and have a look at the wall and tank. Result: I will get a completely new system. New waterpipe, new tank, and what else there is that needs to be fixed.

Great!

Now, I am waiting for another call from the plumber where he hopefully will tell me, when he will arrive to install the new system. Gosh, I don´t need such things while running towards the Advent starts and Christmas!

The rest of the week was pretty uneventful. It is rainy, windy, grey, and not at all pleasant – spoken of the weather.

I completely failed the Blog Ahead Challenge. Only ONE new post, that can be counted for this challenge, made its way into the dashboard. The good thing is I learned that I am way too unorganized when it comes to blogging and creating posts. Need to change that.

How was your week?

Happy reading

  1. I'm sorry for the troubles and hope it is fixed quickly. I've had things since I moved and hope that's behind me. If you don't try challenges, you won't even think about the possibilities. Maybe next time, it will go smoother. Have a lovely week!

  2. Oh my goodness! That sounds a solid nightmare, Vi:(. I hope the work isn't too disruptive - water can be so very destructive. I hope the coming week is a BIG improvement. We' re having a lot of rain here, too!

  5. Sorry to hear about the toilet water tank and wall! I'd be freaking out. I don't handle that level of chaos/disruption well at all. Hopefully it's fixed well in advance of the Christmas festivities starting!

    1. Well, I guess me being in panic could be called as "freaking out" too. I hope that next week the plumber will be able to fix the tank and that the wall can be fixed soon too. Thanks for stopping by.
